Just ordered the wheelers 1.5" 3 leaf progressive aal. if I need the overload leaf to make it level(or slightly higher in the rear), where does it go? in between stock and progressive packs, or remove it, install prog pack, then reinstall overload back on bottom?

Overload always goes on the bottom.

Don't have the new packs yet, but is the overload longer than the bottom leaf of the prog pack?

It should be longer slightly.. and it's twice as thick.

I think I may leave the overload leaf in with the progressive aal. that should give me 2" back there? I also have 885 coils coming, which wheelers said should yield me 2.5" with a 4 cylinder, and that should put me about a .5" high in the back, if all my calculations are correct. any cons to leaving the overload in?

    Nope.

Extra lift and no change to your payload.

Removing the overload is a 10% loss in capacity.

The overload leaf is slightly longer than the middle AAL leaf and much longer than the bottom AAL leaf.

Because the overload is longer than the leafs in the AAL. It can contact the leaf pack in an awkward angle if/when the leafs frown. That said, I ran it for two years with heavy loads and zero problems.

Just thought about this, but am I going to have issues with adding this progressive aal to a 5 year old stock leaf pack?

It depends how worn out they are, but you should be alright. The more worn out they are, the less lift you'll get and the quicker the setup will sag.

I installed mine in 2014 on my factory 2009 springs (with overload). No issues.

I installed mine in 2014 as well. left the overload in for little more lift and for the bracket on them that holds the e brake cable.

FWIW, The brake bracket relocates to the AAL when the overload leaf is removed, like this:

don't know why I didn't think of that at the time. in that pic were you taking the overload out or putting it back in?

The picture above is from when I installed the AAL in my new recall leafs that were installed by Toyota. I installed them with no overload.

When I installed the AAL in my old factory leafs, I left the overload in. With the recall leafs, I installed the AAL without the overload because I thought the new 3+1 leaf pack would provide more lift. I was wrong and it ended up about 1/2" lower than my old setup (with the overload in). Hopefully I get around to reinstalling it sometime soon.

well that sucks! I would have done the same thing thinking I would have more lift with the recall pack.

When I first got my Wheeler's Progressive AAL, I removed the overload leaf. After awhile, I noticed the back sagging about .5, so I put the overload back in. At the time, I wasn't sure if the Wheeler's AAL can run with the overload leaf and I emailed the company. This is what they replied.

    "Hello,
It is not meant to be ran with the overload, but with some modification it can. I would suggest cutting the overload leaf down to just longer than the spring perch. Round the sharp edges off and then bolt it to the pack like it would normally go.

So is this what everybody is doing, or are you installing it without modification? installing mine in a couple weeks and curious what seems to be the norm.
