Haha, no worries. Glad it helps. That was my first group buy, and it schooled my ass! I had to work hard for it.

Do it!!! This offer only comes around once I year. If I had a nickel for every 1st gen owner who posted threads about bad leaf springs in the days and weeks after the last group buy closed I could buy you the leaf springs myself!

I'd like to do this but I have some questions that haven't been answered reading through the other posts:

First of all is the leaf pack the only thing I need, or are there other components that I'll have to buy too?

I'm also wondering if this is something I can do by myself or do I need a shop to install it?

Lastly, if I want to level out the front end what exactly do I need? I've heard a few different things but I want to be sure.

    Thanks for the help fellas.

For just the leaf packs you should also get new U-bolts and new front eye bolts. The U-bolts are necessary because the leaf packs are thicker than the stock packs and sometimes the threads can get messed up on the old U-bolts so its really not safe to reuse them. The front eye bolts are recommended because you will most likely destroy the old ones taking them off. New shackles are optional. Its not too hard to do - if you have the right tools it should only take a few hours.

For the front end...are you planning on going all out & getting new shocks? Either way, the 5-leaf packs will give you about 2" of lift. To match that in the front Bilstein 5100's and OME 881's are a good combo (and what I have on my truck).

Honestly I'm not planning on going all out, but I'd like the functionality of the leafs and the asthetics of a leveled truck. Did you do the 5-leaf with your front end setup?

    oh, goodie! Movie time...

Or were you waiting for answers?
Yes, I went all out on the suspension. Everything on my truck was pretty much shot so it didn't make sense to replace only part of the system... I have...

    Wheeler's 5 pack leaf springs
Bilstein 5100's front and rear (front at zero)
    OME 881 coils
    new Ubolts
    new front eye bolts
    steering rack bushings

All in all a good set up for the money. The ride is a little stiffer (I think that comes from the 881's) than I'd care to have some days but I'm still happy with it overall.
I got about 2" of lift from everything.

    Before and after shots...

    Ok,

So I'm trying to get all the components together for my suspension upgrade and will be getting the 5 leaf pack, some new U bolts and new front eye bolts. Anything else I should get for the suspension? Also, gonna go with 5100's set at 0 but can't decide between 880's or 881's for coils. I decided to go with 5 leaf pack because I have a shell on all the time, but I'd like to keep things relatively stock. Will 881's be too much of a lift for a 4 cyl? I'd rather have a small rear rake than front.

    Thanks.

Not sure what the shell will do to the overall measurements (maybe Scott can chime in here)...but with the added weight of the shell the 5 pack is the way to go. And IIRC the 880's will give you between 1 - 1.5" of added height, plenty since you have a 4cyl. If it were my truck that would be the route I would take.

    ...don't encourage him...
