No kidding, I almost because a part of the blown rear diff club. Still need to drain it to be 100% sure I didn't damage anything but it wasn't very low and I haven't wheeled it since it was changed so I'm betting it's fine. Still going to just for peace of mind

If its from the drain plug my first thought is did you replace the crush washer? And should be tightened to spec which is not a whole lot. 36ftlbs Not sure if over tightening would cause a leak.

Yeah I have a bag of Toyota crush washers I picked up awhile ago. I'm not sure what caused it to come loose, maybe over tightened or maybe I didn't tighten it as much as I thought I did. I used my bigger wrench this time which allowed for more leverage and I think I got it locked in there.

gotta grab a harbor freight torque wrench for $12. Or invite the homie over for mod day sometime...:boink: I actually had a couple diff cover bolts loose a couple weeks ago. I could hand loosen them. Probably had something to do with the rocks I hit it with all the time.

you bastard lol. That trip better still be on, I got my camping gear prepped already.

edit: now that the cats outta the bag, we just wanted to keep it small (5 trucks) since MJT gets crowded on weekends. Think we still have 1 spot to fill if someone else is free next Sat/Sun. Wheel Lockwood Canyon trail on Saturday, camp at the base of MJT Saturday night and climb MJT on Sunday.

I have to replace my steering rack bushings tomorrow.(huge pain in the ass) If all goes well I'll be there! Also got the total chaos cam tab gussets going on Tuesday so my truck will finally have good alignment and be normal after months of bullshit problems.

yeah I can't get my truck to stay aligned for the life of me either but I blame Firestone for that, the one I go to won't touch my UCAs. I want to get at least my front Budbilt skid on and my Kings adjusted properly before the trip next weekend, should be able to though.

You'll be fine. Buddy of mine blew out the seal between the 3rd member and the housing and leaves a giant puddle every where he goes and his is ok. Takes a lot to actually blow one up

@Mike likes Tacos where are you doing your steering rack replacement at? You have a place to do it or is that a certified mechanic job lol? Might be able to talk my neighbor into letting me use the driveway tomorrow afternoon (we have a shared driveway and she gets weekends usually).

Tell your buddy we don't like leaked oil on the floor! We are suppose to dump that shit in the ocean to keep the streets clean.

Nobody wants to touch my rack.;) Its a certified Mike and Ryan job. haha. I'm so down for help if you want in. It could take about 4 hours maybe less. I was going to do it in my parking complex cause I have no other options but we have had construction going on lately so it hasn't worked out past weekends.

Im just replacing the bushings with energy suspension.($40) Racks not leaking but bushing have been shot for a couple months. Makes my truck drift all over the place. I look like a drunk driver lately.

If your rack is not damaged or leaking just do the bushings. Isn't a new rack like $400 -600?

Ya that price range is about right. Mines leaking on the passenger side. Cleaned up the boot 2 weeks ago to confirm and can see it again.
