So much progress since Saturday. Getting closer to the Hammers.

Tires mounted and balanced on wheels I bought off @4Running Daily.

    image.jpg

Shock towers made. Shocks, towers, bumps, U-bolt flip kit, Marlin hi-steer, steering assist ram, all installed. Do not mind the welds. Pics taken after mock-up, before being fully burned in.

    image.jpg

    Fog light brackets welded on.

Also, steering box properly bolted in and maybe a few misc. things I forgot. Should have brake lines by Friday, and hopefully smog on Saturday.

It happens often enough to foreigners who do not understand our Parks system. They think they are actual parks where rangers will close up for the night and do a sweep of the place. At Yellowstone, a lot of them think the rangers round up the animals and bring them inside when it is cold outside.

Now you probably understand why I said I do not care about rock rash on the wheels. If the wheels were too nice, it would not look right with the rest of the theme of the truck.

Hopefully the 1st gen dakars are different. But my Cs047R leaf pack is really annoying. It makes excessive amounts of squeeky noises right now. Im going to be modifying the pack to add isolators between the leafs that dont have them. hopefully that helps.

Id also rather have a 10 leaf deaver pack vs a 5 or 6 leaf dakar with overloads. They seem to ride better. But theres things id rather spend $800+ dollars on

Yeah i'm waiting on a quote to rework them. The deavers don't make a peep which is great, but i'm worried even after the rework they won't lift enough, i'll see what they say.
And yeah i've heard the dakars are loud as shit, which WILL piss me off.. but with the weight in the rear and possible swing out in the future, I like the idea of the dakars lifting 2.5 and adding a leaf if need be.. it will depend on costs once i get the quotes back i guess :/
