Would it even be fair to the other broverlanders if we show up with 3 trucks on 35's and locked front and rear?

Seems like it would be a fucking riot. Just sucks it's clear out in Alabama...

Will I need a Overland Fridge and Overland stove to pass their tech and safety inspection? oh and also a set of maxtrax? hahahaha

It would be one hell of a fun trip all the way out and back. We would dominate that bitch. Podium finish boys.

Those duratracs hated you! At least you got a full set of free tires with the warranty haha. What is it now, 2-3 weeks until they're put to the test? I'm excited to see your rig on 35s!
I just priced out ECGS front and rear... when I get 4x4 I'm going to be eating top ramen for months!

On a side note about tires. I have been pleasantly surprised by my good year Duratracs. They pulled me through some heavy heavy spring mud up in Southern Idaho. I got them for so damn cheap i didn't care. I've always said Good Year's are the Worst Years. BUT I will knock on them pretty hard now... The rubber chucks out like a SOB. They wear like a 8 year old trying to sand his pine wood derby car smooth. They tread cupping is so bad they hold water. Even when I rotate them every 5000 miles. The sidewalls are sneeze through. They never say balanced for more than 200 miles. Next set will not be Duratracs.. gotta find something new. soooo many tire options out there these days.

Yeah they certainly have pulled me through tons of shit. My brother in his 4 runner got stuck with MT's and i pulled him out and still didn't get stuck.

Well when you only get 2000-2500 miles on a tire before you destroy it... hard to even wear the nubs off let alone start to cup the tread!!!

I had a set of GY Duratracs on my 2nd gen and had the worst cupping ever. I rotated them every 5k and it still sounded like I was driving a tank after about 25k miles. I was much happier with my BFG KOs that I replaced them with.

    The Vehicle:

A street legal vehicle that is not obnoxiously loud or unreliable. Because after all this is an Overland Challenge, this isn't intended for your rock buggies and dedicated trail rigs, this is for the self sufficient travelers.

Each vehicle must have both front and rear recovery points attached to the frame

    4wd required

    31" or taller tires

    Adequate ground clearance

At least 1 working winch per team(You will need it I promise)

Vehicle must be setup for self sustained travel, This means it should be completely self reliant i.e. sleeping, cooking and whatever else you might need on a 3 day expedition.

Fuck me, seriously, 3 days is all that's required for an "expedition"? Does that mean if I go camping for 6 days it's mega-expo? Christ at the rate these clowns are going, a half a day trip down a fire road is going to be an "expedition" next year.

Absolutely ridiculous, have fun "expoing" out to a mud pit in the forest. All you need for 3 days of that is a cooler and a fucking tent.

My personal favorite is only one “working” winch for all three vehicles.

Seriously. It’s a 3 day camping trip. That just a backpack worth of shit. This overlanding thing is getting pretty rediculous. Goddamn. Part of my wants to do this and win the thing just to prove to them you do not need all this “overlanding” gear. It’s just fucking camping and 4 wheeling. I’ve been doing it my whole life. Before the trucks and side by sides. We’d just throw a sleeping bag and a cooler worth of shit on the rack of a atv. Half the time we didn’t even Fuck with a tent.

Lol cause we don’t have roof top tents that means our rigs are “dedicated trail rigs” and that would disqualify our win.
