Exactly. Look, we all started out as noobs. some of us either used the resources in front of us, and some just ask because they they want to do their own research. I'll ask when I've exhausted my research and see if someone can point me in the right direction or best case know the answer to what I am looking for. slowly we all start to know and understand more. Part of learning a new hobby. But don't become a know it all douche. and don't become a over landing douche who has every bolt on known to man, use your truck as a "Status" to boost your ego to make yourself better than others.

I was around Matt alot back in the day before and after the Rebel Taco got its wrap and did plenty of off road trips with him. Other than the fact that he was big into photography I never once heard him talk about IG at all. It was just something he did to share his photos but he never brought it up from what I remember. I agree he probably should have rethought what he wrote but he never came across as someone who was all about becoming instafamous. But then again he always gave us plenty of material to give him shit for. I'm also old so maybe I just missed it because I don't really give a fuck. We all see people differently so there's that.

Sometimes you need someone to rock the boat to start change. Not saying I agree with him but he did spark a conversation that needs to be had with a lot of the new comers to off roading.

One of the machinists where I work at asked me if I drove the white modded truck. I said yes, then he followed up if I over landed. I immediately cringed and said "yeah, but I just call it car camping."

I would never have guessed that the guy would be familiar with the term... But there ya go, "overlanding" is going mainstream.

Your welcome dickhead! Haha I remember the Anza trip I lead in January (among several others) it was such a clusterfuck but my goal was to show people what it’s all about and hopefully inspire some to build their rigs to function.
Then a bunch of em went the other direction your talking about and the rest I look forward to camping and wheeling with every time (even if they like natural ice hahah)

So...I just discovered that the brass fitting from my bypass valve was sucked out and lodged in the vacuum line, probably since I got the truck 2 years ago. Took it out and it feels like my supercharged 3.4l finally got supercharged, fuck me.

It was mentioned in passing in the 'what did you do to your 1st gen today' thread...another guy just put a blower on his 3.4l and was describing many of the same issues I've had with mine since I got the truck...lack of boost in 1st - 2nd gear, boost coming on slowly and not to full 6psi throughout the other gears in WOT, pinging issues, etc. Someone casually mentioned checking the brass fitting on the bypass valve and I'll be damned if that wasn't what I needed to read all along....I've tried a hundred other different things that were suggested to me but no one ever mentioned that before

Oh yeah I’ve seen that before. Keeps the supercharger like a toyota still. Good find. Think they do something like that to the second gens too.

You need to watch the 2nd Gen S/C thread we discovered that months ago. However some guys have had mixed results and have put them back in.

I would definitely get an AFR gauge before running w/o the restrictor jet though.

Yeah it's on the short list. I'm still pinging though under WOT in higher gear so I think I'm still a little lean if anything....need to tune the 7th injector

Can the 1st gen be boost referenced in regards to the fuel pressure regulator?

I googled and looks like it can.

There should be a vacuum line going from the FPR to the intake.
You want to disconnect it from the intake and hook it to the boost port on the supercharger.
Since you already have a boost gauge you would need a T connector to do this.

By doing this you are now changing the fuel pressure regulator so it delivers more fuel as boost increases.
