I agree. I'd build a trailer for it. I'm already doing 55mph max on the freeway. Might as well be towing something.

Gonna have to figure out a system to get it on/off the T4R if you want to be able to do so without killing yourself or damaging the tent/truck. Things are heavy AF and awkward to handle, let alone getting them that high up. Definitely a two man job for that at least. Luckily mine can slide up onto the bed rack relatively easily compared to a roof mounted one, but it was still a huge pain in the ass.

I've seen some cool pulley systems people have rigged up that have big garages, but that's not in the cards for me anytime soon. Maybe I could rig something up using the tree that goes over our driveway, lol

I was in my tent in the crazy Mojave winds on top of the 4runner which is soft and sway bar free. Didnt move while parked. Is easy to control at 80mph with 40mph winds as i came back from the desert.
Its definitely not like with a sway bar, but its not unsafe nor feels like i will tip over. I went out in Pismo and did all kinds of angles and drop-ins just fine with it on top. In reality my tents only 100lbs, so its not too much on top.

hasnt slowed me down any yet. But i can see the concerns on paper, although i think most arent really justifiable after running mine as long as i have now.

I believe it, lol. I managed to get mine up onto my bed rack by myself but it wasn't easy. Tried enlisting the help of my fiancé but she weighs less than the 130lb tent so I just managed it solo. It's not that the weight is that much to move, but when it's a 4x4 ft square that you can hardly grab both sides of, it's a bitch. Mine's staying on too unless I really think it should come off for any one particular trip.

No .. I have to do some more :sawzall: on the the dash before they will fit in. Hoping I can do that this weekend (along with regular and diff oil change).

I also need to get the bung welded on for the O2 sensors and get the electrical for the gauges wired up.

    What gauge did you get?

One of the AEM wideband ones, was $170 on Amazon...little over $200 with the pod. On my phone ATM but I'll post a pic later. Yeah I'm terrible with all things wiring so this will be an interesting learning experience. Reviews make the install sound easy but it's always the ones with a lot of experience that say that lol.

Looks easy enough since the gauge doesn't have a dim feature.
only two wires, switched 12v source and ground.

I'm debating doing the springs this Saturday, or possibly hitting a trail...not sure yet. Probably the springs.

There's an offroad shop actually right here in Monrovia where I live, maybe 2 miles from my house that I just recently learned about...RPM Garage I think. Was thinking I'd hit them up to do my AFR gauge since it involves welding the bung on.

Whereabouts in town were you? My fiance and I just moved here about 8 months ago, just beneath Foothill on Lime. Great little town for the most part except for a spike in gang activity lately....but that's LA for ya I guess.

Yeah I heard about RPM on here actually, checked out their page and they look like a cool little family owned business. Haven't been by there yet but plan on checking then out soon.

    Aaaaaaaaaaand I’m out
Pulling my injectors next week to get sent out and rebuilt/flow tested. Dam thing is barely driveable....like pulling 2nd or 3rd going up a hill on the FREEWAY.
Doubt I’ll have it running tip top shape by then, I’m not trying to hold up the group because of a breakdown:anonymous:

Good news is I’m getting a IFS box for free so I’m that much closer to my crossover steering which is a kinda big deal running trails like that

Yea I mean I COULD run Odessa without much issue because there’s not big ass hill climbs( F you white mountain lol)
But I just don’t want to be that guy.
I’d honestly have more issues getting up the cajon pass

As far as the gears go shit man idk when I’m gonna throw em in, picked them up on a whim cuz they were super cheap

Game plan for next 6 months is like
1)get my pos motor running ok
2)make a custom seat mounts cuz I broke the stock ones last time out
    3)crossover steering
4)front locker/gears f&r/axle rebuild/axle armor/upgraded axles if I can find some on the cheap by then
    5)cage

For sure. We start at sunrise anyway so I'd do it if it was high 90s. Last year it was 106 and I was fine. The mines feel air conditioned so great place for a breaks along the way.
    Next time brotha

Cough cough... You got 33s anyways:rofl:

I'm roughly 2 hours late only on mod days. It's strategic.:D Trails days I'm always on time. I think... Call bullshit if I'm missing a time here.
