Pretty much. I think there have been a few shitshow threads on the 2nd gen forum in the couple years I've been here...nothing compared to the 3rd gen though. I haven't seen one 1st gen forum thread devolve into a shitshow. They're usually pretty straight and to the point.

I probably had a couple when I first started but I knew better than to ask on a public forum, haha.

Just pulled the trigger on some cooper st maxx's. Reviews claim to be good from all i've read with the occasional bad apple of course. The ko2s I had previously lasted about 43k with two semi deep sidewalls slashes but continue to hold air and don't buldge where they are ripped. They did okay but definitely wanted to try something new :notsure:

    That doesn't sound good:anonymous:

The tires will definitely be used so well see if one rips, at 11psi hopefully not

I've always admired KO2s for the beating they can take, at least mine have held up really well (both sets). This newer set though is wearing pretty quickly...I'm not too bummed though, just means 33s will come sooner.

Yea don't get me wrong they were a great tire and lasted a long time, but wanted to give something different a try. I was going to actually run another set of the ko2s but after speaking with some people who actually ran the ko2s then the st maxx's saying they wouldn't go back to the ko2s made me change my decision.. although I will be bummed if they aren't as good as the ko2 beacuse like you've said I have definitely put them through the ringer as many others have as well:D

I went KM2. Seen a lot of failed coopers. Hoping the best for you bro. But hey people also tell me their KO2 rip sidewalls all the time. Hasn't been my experience and you guys know how I roll. I look at most side wall fails usually coming down to driver error or sometimes shit just happens. Can't blame a manufacturer for every tire fail...

Exactly. I was looking at the km2 and also the new released km3 but they were pricey. Definitely know how you wheel haha. Hopefully those coopers aired down, driving, and lightness of the first gen will all play a positive role when wheeling with them but we'll see. Going to go try them out in big bear few days after I throw them on

Edit: Also was looking at the toyo mt but I think I do too much highway driving for a MT

Are you still at school in Arizona? Have you been up around Lake Pleasant? Just north of Phoenix. Some pretty rough trails over there. Since I make regular trips to Phoenix to visit family I got that place on my to do list. Might be getting too hot now though. Maybe later this year.

Yea my 2nd year (out of 4) will be ending next week. Then moving to another apartment over here. Then heading back home for the summer.

Haven't been around the lake Pleasant area much but have wheeled a bunch in the Table Mesa area (lower/upper terminator etc). Backway to crown king, sunflower mine, log corral, raw deal, elvis, woodepecker. You gotta wheel out here the trails are all fun canyons etc.

    Check out this thread

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/az-trail-ratings.420477/

Then theres a bunch of buggy trails and I usually bum rides with them:rofl:. I have pics on the build thread from upper and lower terminator. Hit every single piece of armor I had

I went through 6 KM2's in 6 months all with similar tears before I said fuck this and swapped to Toyo's. Haven't run a different tire in almost 6 years

I’ve gotta say toyo all the way. I have grabbers on my truck now but I’ll be going back to Toyos soon

Toyos are $$$, but I've never heard of anyone having problems with them.

Personally I'm on the Falken AT3W and have been very happy with them, like them more than the K02s I had previously. They are an All Terrain though.

Only complaint I’ve heard about the toyos is that they don’t last a long time but that’s a given with a MT
