Just wait until gas is $4.50 a gallon. Probably sell pretty quick.

What brake pads ya'll using? Currently outside swapping the drilled and slotted rotors over to the new truck and the pads will need replacing soon.

White Mountain Road across the valley in the Inyo Mountains goes to 11k. Barren alpine where it ends at a gate, you can also camp up there at a couple places.

Stoptech pads and Wagner rotors....was supposed to put Stoptech rotors in but Amazon sent me 2nd gen Tacoma rotors so I had to get what they had at Pep Boys down the street. Been on for a couple months now and work well.

White Mtn. Traverse is one of my favorites..

The gate to the White Mtn. Traverse is closed from Nov-June (may open early dependent on snow levels).

Laurel Lakes isn't the place for a group that big. You should go solo, it's pretty awesome up there. I don't know if you have ever been on Rock Creek Road but I would suggest the drive. It's all pavement but well worth it just for the scenery. It's just a few miles below where the Laurel Lakes turnoff is at.

X2 for rock creek. Most of the campgrounds in the canyon are first come first serve maybe you’ll get lucky if you arrive the night before or early early morning. There’s a hiking trail at the end of the road that is all time epic and not difficult for the first few miles. Trailhead is at 9500ft so for the first few miles there’s plenty of trees but the surrounding mountains are bare it looks awesome

Back at the end of April it was almost completely snow free. Only place there was snow was above Grove of the Patriarchs, which unfortunately turned out to be a gnarly snow bank that turned me around and back down Silver Canyon. The snow bank might be melted away by now and might be able to get to the Barcroft Gate.

Going to a wedding at Lake Arrowhead in June, probably going to extend the trip and was looking for some idea for camping in the area. I figured this might be the right forum to ask. Anyone know of some spots there? I saw there are a few trails (Pilot Rock and Willow Creek). Camping allowed out there?

Nice, that looks exactly how our Mt Whitney hike looked when we were toward the beginning of it. Once you hit the treeline it became a completely different experience.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, looking forward to exploring the area

I don't remember if camping is allowed along Pilot Rock trail but I doubt it is...however there are several campgrounds where Pilot Rock trail meets up with the several fire roads down at the base of the mountain where Lake Arrowhead is at. I'm sure if you pull up Pilot Rock on google maps and follow it along until it meets Lake Arrowhead, you'll see the campsites indicated there. I remember seeing some sites when I took Pilot Rock up to Lake Arrowhead a few months back. In fact we drove through a big campsite on our way out last time but I wasn't paying attention to the name of it...had facilities too if I remember right. I'm sure it'll show up on google maps if you're looking at the area.

edit: I remember passing through Pinnacles Peak OHV and seeing people camped out there, they had bathrooms too.

Hmm, wasn't me. Certainly wouldn't have minded it though. We did a week up in the Tahoe area a few weeks back.
