For sure, once I get the Expos in and confirm that they're going to work better for me I'll sell the Dakars.

Will the Dakars fit on a '98 without any mods??? :notsure:

Plus, what is meant by "isolators and such"??? :notsure:

I would like to get the All-Pro std leaf pack because I heard good things about them without any real complaints. The truck bed is empty a good 99% of the time anyways as I know they're not really meant to carry heavy loads for prolonged periods.

Isolators are small nylon disks that go between the leaf springs and help them slide/articulate better and reduce squeaking.

Yup, the 95.5-97 Tacos have a different part number but these fit 98-04

Really they'd be great for a truck that doesn't carry weight, my problem is I carry 250lbs regularly then up to 800 on camping trips which is where they start to sag ass big time. That and they need isolators to help keep them quiet. Other than that, they ride fantastic....I have zero complaints about how they ride. Very soft which I'm going to miss going to the Expo leafs but I'm sure I'll survive.

The All Pro standard leafs look like great leafs too, probably even better than the standard Dakars but they're a couple hundred bucks more. They do have a great reputation though

Okay, SUPER LAME QUESTION HERE, but is there a "left"-side and "right"-side leaf??? Can you tell by the part number (i.e. part numbers for left/right sides... if such exists)? :notsure:

    EDIT:
just trying to do my research as much as possible.

They do come with isolators except the AALs do not. But even with the isolators they came with they squeak like mad, at least mine do.

Hmm, so far no squeaks on mine... at least related to my leafs. I have some strange squeaks under braking and lifting off. But I want to say it's unrelated.

Possibly coming down to a "weight issue" then... meaning that even with the isolators and what not, the weight is now exceeding the whole design within itself, if you get what I mean??? :notsure:

I know on the 98-04 leaf springs they are side specific. The part numbers for OME Dakars for example differ by one letter.

I don't care enough to read threads in detail. I mostly scan to if anyone says anything stupid I can make fun of them for.

Looks like Keith @oni06 is stuck helping me with my leafs now ahaha. I'll help you do your brakes though :p

Did my front/rear SS lines about a month ago and it wasn't too bad except for those fucking metal C-clips on the brakes lines were a nightmare to get off on the front. I think they're a lot easier on 2nd gens though from pics I've seen.

Ok cool we'll play it by ear, yeah I watched some videos on how to get the fuckers off because on 1st gens they are facing inwards toward the inside of the truck so you can't even see them, have to feel for them. And both on the front were 2 inch from my headers with barely enough room to get one hand in there, took my brother and I over an hour to figure out how to pop the first one off. Still have a couple gashes healing on my hand from that experience.

yeah these Dakars are side specific, one side is supposedly a little beefier to account for the gas tank and such. I believe it's "A" for driver side and "B" for passenger but I'd have to double check.
