White Mountain sounds good to me.

Lame. But also, BBQs are fun too.

I just tried to check out White Mountain on TrailsOffroad.com, bummed to see they made so much of the trail pages only available to premium users... No more technical ratings, detailed maps, or obstacle descriptions/waypoints... and they the map browser view to an interface thats annoying to use. :(

huh I just noticed that they did that, yeah that sucks...at least you can still read a general description though and get coordinates to the trail head though.

Only thing I'll want to check on is the snow conditions before we head up there....I've done it in the snow a couple times and it's no big deal but just want to make sure it isn't crazy deep or iced over. I wonder if Coxey Road is opened back up...

We're supposed to be in the eighties next week, so if it isn't clear now it will be very soon. Although, it did rain all last night here so I wouldn't be surprised if it got some more snow.

    Yea sounds good.

According to the National Forest site it is open. Though it does say it is closed from the northern side.

yeah I got a "winter weather warning" yesterday on my phone for the mountain areas but it looked like it was mostly the Angeles Crest/Wrightwood mountains, dunno if it made it as far south as Big Bear...do you live up in BB?

Nah I'm down here in ontario area. I've been trying to make it up to big bear myself but I work 5 days a week graveyard plus weekends so it's a pain in a backside to get up on a sunday. It's been such a good snow season too.

yeah especially these past few weeks, since they had the 330 and 18 closed from storm damage (and Coxey Rd so you couldn't even take the fire roads up)...only way to get up there was up the highway on the desert side of Big Bear which would have been an absolute nightmare with all the traffic I'm sure. I've avoided going up there the past month because of it but I imagine they've opened up the roads again by now.

Yeah it'd be nice to just drive up there on pavement and see what we can see, but as proved last time on the 330, 2 hours of traffic is crazy. I also wouldn't mind getting my regear done first because that'll help getting up the hill lol.

Apparently you can take Grapevine Canyon Road to Coxey Rd

    https://www.google.com/maps/place/2...d3801fb2bb634!8m2!3d34.4146986!4d-117.0426526

Follow the road till it ends @ Coxey Road

Yea sounds good. I wish trailsoffroad hadn't changed their map interface. It was a really good and easy way see where all the trails are... now I'm having trouble mapping out the route in my mind.

Idk if it’s any better, but have you tried using All Trails? I think there’s a way to download the route

I've only used it for mountain biking, never really off-roading... It's a good idea, I'll check it out and see if it helps!
