Depends what you get. In my case i wont be really "saving money" for a long time. But driving a lexus everyday vs the truck is the bomb. I bought mine with cash so i only have insurance cost.

No idea. Just as it started to get into late fall earlier winter last year the air coming out started to smell like a bandaid and wasn't cold anymore.

The ac in the seats is incredible. Getting a nice cold wind in the butt crack on a hot day is priceless

Sounds good, I could use a good mod day. My driveway is pretty limiting as you've seen, plus the other day I went to lift my truck with the floor jack and the fucking wheels of the floor jack broke down into the concrete 2 inches deep haha.

After calling a few differential shops (couple were a pain to get a hold of), it seems that people only want to work on Jeeps. A place in pomona even said he "hated working on Toyotas." Most of them didn't answer the phone so I ended up going with the 4wheelparts in Riverside, whom I've had good luck with in the past. Excluding the front locker cost, its going to be $2200. If I could have done things differently, I would have had ECGS assemble the 3rd members and had someone help me with the install, I'm just not comfortable doing difs myself yet. So yeah it isn't cheap, but I'm happy it's getting done since the parts have been sitting for such a long time. I threw the tax return and money from old parts I sold into it, so I'm only out of pocket roughly 1k.

I've heard that Toyotas have much tighter tolerances to follow when it comes to working on the differential (compared to other vehicles), one tiny mistake or sloppy detail in the install can ruin the rear end. Might be why so many are against taking on the job.

I've heard that YotaMasters (Orange County somewhere?) does a good job

Cool, thanks for the info. When I'm ready to drop that much money, I'll definitely look into the ECGS route. I've only ever heard good things about them.

YotaMaster are in Corona, I think. I have heard they do great work, but it doesn't come cheap. I called them about getting a CMC, and they wanted almost $400 for it.

My DD Chevy Volt cost me 12k cash money. Tags are only $250ish, tires were $500, insurance $1,200 a year. All that to say that I've saved $5,200 in fuel in 18 months. That includes gasoline & electricity costs (I track it all). It's paying for itself within 4 years, easy. And that's just looking at fuel. My $1,300 Nitto tires aren't getting worn down, nor are my brakes to stop em. My commute is 19.x miles each way, 5 days a week. I can charge at work & recoup 20 miles of juice per day (2 hour cap). Last time I gassed up was 2/24.

Yes, I didn’t end up contacting yotamasters on account they quoted @Shmellmopwho like $2500 for it. I was hoping some of the smaller driveline and differential shops would be cheaper, but nope, everyone was around the 2k price mark for doing both diffs.

Weelllll... Also called 4Wheelparts to see if my truck was ready, and they told me maybe next tuesday... Yeah that estimation of picking it up this evening was way off. :facepalm:Hope no one steals my tailgate.
