More like psychosomatic fear of the Rubi sickness.

JK @Mike likes Tacos I hope you get over it fast so you can make this trip. It's gonna be a fun one. If you can't get your skid fixed in time just bring it like that to the trail head. We'll throw a quick weld on it and it will be fine. lol

Been having the itch to go out especially before the long travel arrives. I am curious is cleghorn open right now or is it closed due to all CA national forests being closed?

I would avoid Cleghorn like the plague though, place is always overrun with SxS's and huge groups of trucks/Jeeps

I haven't been there in forever but one of the FB Socal Offroad pages I'm on has people posting big group pics from Cleghorn practically every day lol. It's like the basic go-to trail for all of Southern CA these days, personally I'd rather do Pilot Rock in that area over Cleghorn any day. But even Pilot Rock has been pretty busy the last few times I went

Only reason im doing it is taking a first timer out with his family and want to get through the trail quick and easy. I have always wanted to to pilot rock but have other plans later in the day. Ill be happy to just see dirt again!

Pilot Rock is in the same area, maybe another 20 - 25 min drive to get to the trail head. If you look up Pilot Rock on Google Maps it'll give you directions to the trailhead, I think it's a much better trail personally.

If you're taking a first timer you probably want to stick to the main fire road, once you get about midway through there are some more technical obstacles to play around on if you decide to. But there's a 2wd road that goes through the whole thing.

There's a separate 4x4 only trail toward the beginning that branches off but you'll know it when you see the gatekeeper, just keep following the main fire road to stay on the easy trail.

It ends basically at the bottom of Lake Arrowhead mountain, there's a network of fire roads there that will take you up into Lake Arrowhead which is pretty cool

Try 2n49. It's off the beaten path and ties into cleghorn toward the end. Not a difficult trail by any means, but good scenery. Lots of pin stripes as the road narrows in spots. Then drive over and go up pilot rock.
