Question for you guys...

Best place to get my 5100 lift kit installed at? Or any recommendations for someone local and mechanically inclined? I've gotten one quote from a fellow TW member @ $400 for complete install.

 

Yeah I installed mine myself.

Honestly took close to 12 hours but I have never done suspension work before. Each first side took waaaaaay longer than the opposing side. Definitely learned a lot about my truck though.

 

400 seems fair ish
i think mike just paid around 450 from guy who did my bumper
400-600 is gonna be the range for sure.

 

I feel exactly the same way.

It would definitely be much quicker now.

haha thanks man, I was going to say....a space to do it in is one of my biggest obstacles. No driveway and I live on a long, steep hill If I can motivate myself to set aside the time and faith to take it on myself then I'll let you know lol.

Do you have 5100 and coils or you just swapping out shocks

 

Do it yourself. I've done mine twice now.

 

My suspension took a day and a half. However one full day was spent installing the bamf rear shock relocation kit for my 12" kings. Credit @Speed Freek for making all that magic happen. He's located in North County San Diego and does great work if you can find the time to cruise down there.

I have the CA.and AZ.(volume 2)trail guides and think there great!It's definitely not all pussyass fireroads by no means!
Actually met the two authors in Flagstaff,AZ.at the Overland Expo in May and was told that there in the process of updating the CA.guide which would be volume 2!

 

I want their job, wonder if they need a photographer to go with them?

 

I'm just excited that we'll have a photographer with us at Cleghorn

 

All the more reason for me to stop being lazy and bring my gear with me on these trail runs... I can get a little portfolio going, send it to these guys (or some other trail book company) and get to go wheeling for a living! #lifegoal

 

Would love their job as well!I didn't even think to ask them how they go about's their photography and such when i met them!
