They break from fast off road use. The crawling and such is fine unless you hit one.

The problem arises from the oil getting too hot and leaking out. Go to pismo too much and fly around the dunes and you will start to have issues. Every now and then is not a problem. That is what resis and bypasses are for.

Yeah on page one of that thread, ToyTec posted a reply explaining why they wouldn't warranty the OP's rear shocks...apparently according to Bilstein a certain level of leakage is considered normal. Weird. Oh well, I guess they are relatively inexpensive to replace or just have Bilstein cover under warranty depending on how bad they are.

haha, that's why I was both worried and put at ease at the same time...now if I try and keep up with you we might both blow our shocks! :headbang: :beavisd: :homer:

At least blown shocks aren't debilitating. You can drive without them out of wherever you are.

Ginger pills do wonders for nausea too, much better than Benadryl or other diphenhydramine pills that make you drowsy.

I used to get car sick a lot as a kid so she probably gets that from me. It seems to be the up/down mixed with side/side that does it for her. Smooth canyon roads she can handle.

I try to create a routine of food and hydration, coupled with front seat and fresh air. Hopefully that'll be a better experience. I probably only get one or two more shots with her before she just doesn't want to go out wheeling at all. :pout:

Sports in general. People who get motion sickness generally don't exercise. The more you move, the more your body tends to get used to moving. If you sit all day, your body is shocked when the horizon starts bouncing.

When I was younger, I got motion sickness. Started swimming and playing water polo and it went away. Shaking your head around in the water killed it haha

I've been very active my whole life and exercise at least 4 times a week, but if I try reading anything while passenger in a car I'll get car sick almost instantly. Doesn't happen otherwise though, so that's probably just normal. Car sickness is the worst, comes on quick then takes forever to go away.

My girlfriend doesn't get it at all, she can sit in the back of an SUV right over the wheel and read a novel while driving down a windy mountain road and not get sick. Jealous.

We will probably do the Alamo Mountain Loop behind Hungry Valley this Saturday afternoon. My wife has a doctor appointment in the morning so I can't give a definite time of our start. Probably after lunch around 1-2pm.

Anyone want to meet up and do it?

Dealership says they've been trying to diagnose my overheating issue all day but haven't been able to, they need to keep my truck until tomorrow :(
Maybe they're having too much fun joyriding around town with the supercharger...they'd better fill up the gas tank at least :bananadead:

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Hold onto your old suspension for awhile... JUST IN CASE you can pull off the new shocks and drop in your factory ones for warranty service.

One of my Icons popped like a virgin on his first night after my accident. So. Inconvenient.

If it's just the plastics and fender flare use a utility knife, it'll be cleaner. If you're gonna cut the body/firewall/front of the door, get a saw.

Sometimes fire roads are a blast. You can haul and get to cool destinations. The road out to this spot was a 40 mile fire road with very little technical wheeling. Still my favorite trip I've ever made.

I'm not 100% sure that I can cut the bottom corners of the front fenders with a utility knife. I have to cut more of the water guard and do some hammering up inside the top of the wheel well for sure though. Big dips at moderate speed causes light rubbing.

I want to cut the bottom of the corners for assurance. THose are the tightest areas when turning the wheel lock to lock.

I'm a rookie though so maybe I should wait until someone else see's it.:notsure:
