Yeah, well...technically you only need one if you park your truck, but it's a safe bet to grab one. They're only a few bucks.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Can buy one at your local Big 5 for $30, an extra $5 gets you a second vehicle pass. They last a year from purchase date. Easily worth the buy.

Good question, I'm not entirely sure....I always get the one for Angeles Crest National Forest but I think Cleghorn is in the San Bernardino National Forest? If so there might be a separate pass for it, anyone know?

Also you can get a pass just for the day, I think they're $5

Covers Angeles, Cleveland, Los Padres, San Bernardino Nat'l Forrest's. As Digitial mentioned they're good for 1 year from purchase date. Pay 35 bucks for 2 passes, throw them in your glovebox and you plus 1 are good to go for a year

yeah the last few times I went out to Rowher Flats OHV I didn't have a pass, and I drove past a few park rangers. They'll only ticket you if they come up on your truck parked and you aren't in it.

Certainly interested. Didn't know this was going down till @digitaLbraVo mentioned it to me. I was going to wheel Big Bear and hit the BB Brewery after but this definitely sounds like a blast.

Not sure if most people know but a lawsuit was filed a few years ago and a federal judged ruled a law change in the use of the forest adventure pass program that went into affect in 2014.

The new law states the adventure pass is only needed or enforced with the use of any highly developed government site. Such as a campsite, restrooms, picnic area's or paved parking lots with restroom access.

Adventure passes are no longer needed or enforced for hiking or driving or parking in any undeveloped government forestry land. With that said as much as we all camp and off road and use these government facilities they are only $30 bucks for all year. So to me it's not a big deal just to purchase one.

Agreed. It maintains the land we love to enjoy.

Until those fuckers try to use that money to close it to off highway vehicles. THEN FUCK THEM.

Exactly! I was about to type up the same. The passes are only required if you park in an area with say flush/vaulted toilets, picnic tables, a paved parking lot, primitive camping spots with a fire ring, etc. And as for me as much as I camp and enjoy the nat'l forests I'm cool with paying the 30 bones for the year to help with preservation, research, and maintenance of the forests. Same goes with my fishing license. Happy to help out Fish and Game

Exactly. Can't stand the fact that every one of my hobbies is under attack by these deskchair morons. Encryption? Too dangerous for our snooping. Offroading? Too dangerous to the sand. Guns? Too dangerous for everyone else.

What the fuck else can I do these days? Eat McDonalds?

Oh. That's too dangerous, too? Great.
