Black bear attacks actually happen more frequent than brown bear attacks. It's a numbers thing. Nearly every state has black bears whereas browns are only found in a few. A pissed off mama bear is a pissed off mama bear there. I want nothing to do with it. I went to Kodiak, AK once (home of the largest grizzly bears) and holy smokes. Screw that noise. I want nothing to do with wrestling one of those monsters. The Salmon fishing in Ketchikan was phenomenal though.

Maybe a vacation next year for Moab Rock Therapy and Grand Canyon.

I was actually stoked that that guy chimed in about it recently. I felt bad for breaking the law but nothing made any sense and nobody that had gone knew the exact rules.

I contacted Overland people on Facebook and Instagram who had been there and nobody knew.

The guy who runs the gate on Havasupai land doesn't care as long as you give him 25 dollars so I was good to go.

Sounds better than the crazy man with a gun demanding 5 bucks per person at Deep Creek Hot Springs north of Lake Arrowhead. Haha

Haha I had a feeling something was wrong when I showed my pass and he said that isn't normal. I just said well this is what they gave me at the gas station and he basically said "just give me 25 dollars"

If you go, it is weird. Like 20 miles down a dirt road there are a bunch of trailers where these 2 guys take turns collecting money.

Super worth the 25 bucks though. At least in my opinion.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Oh dude I've seen that guy!

Theres an alternate free way to get in. A 6 mile hike compared to the shorter pay to play route. I haven't actually been. Just read up on it. Evidently the crazy man own that piece of land that allows access to the hot springs. Something like that.

I see very little MPG change when I have my tent on vs off. Our whole trip was like 2 weeks. We spent 9 days on a houseboat in Lake Powell I believe though.

That hike is gnarly I've heard. Nancy did it once and said she has no intention of doing it in the near future.
