Kyle was a guy that blew a lot of hot air but never produced.

Your goodie list sounds fantastic in my mind.
Although from that list I would think you were building a beast ready for heavy rock crawling and mashing -- not necessarily a daily driver. Now if this was a build away from your daily I would say righteous! Motor, gears, locker, armor, tires in that order? Party on! Why slap heavy shit on like armor and tires without a musculoskeletal system prepped for moving it.

I'd start with a suspension lift and some tires. Go haul ass and mess around. You'll have more fun with that then a locker. I've been a 4x4 guy forever. So I really couldn't tell ya how much more trail you can get with 2wd vs 2wd with locker but I'd go suspension and tires first regardless.

Well basically I tried to take a hill in my truck once and just failed about half way. So I figured without going 4x4 this is the only way I could go. Honestly I just want to be able to have fun and get out there and be with the pack. I just figured this was my only route to be able to hang.
And oh I'm not blowing hot air. Shit if someone would help me put it in I'd go buy the parts tomorrow morning haha

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Hey Chris I wish you and the family the best. We miss ya'll out here.

I think you're on the right path. I vote to do that and next up would be suspension and tires. Having the rear wheels locked really helps on a 2wd. Once stage 2 comes along you'll have plenty of wheeling under your belt and know more what you want from your truck

An upgraded suspension, some clearance, quality tires, and the right amount of skinny pedal and you will get to plenty of awesome places. That's going to allow you to become a better skilled driver than some with 4x4 and all the other bells and whistles.

Just do what I did. Kings and tires!!! I'm sure @eccracer104 will more than agree and support this decision! :boink::rofl::burnrubber:

@Kens04Taco CB and HAM setup as well!!! Geez, just say'n :notsure: Most are doing HAM radio without a license, BUT, I promise NOT to get into that conversation as MOST would SHOOT me by now, LMAO!!! So, just to save MY LIFE, LOL, I won't get into it!!! Anyways, my point being most people are going HAM such as your Chinese Red Army Baofeng radios (GET THE 8Watt radios if you plan on going this route). Also, it NEVER hurts to have back-up comms such as a CB as well. NOT everyone has and/or will get a HAM radio!!! This is obviously strictly up to you on what you want and don't want. Me personally, CB's are NOT that expensive!!! About $100 will get you a decent setup... radio and all!!!

@uhplifted Brian, if you want to "extend your range" it would be best to get an external HAM antenna as well. Your wattage out of your radio is going to be the same, of course, but TX'ing from within the cab of your truck is GREATLY reducing "range"! You will still be able to contact people from pretty far away, but no where NEAR as efficiently if you're inside the cab of your truck TX'ing!!!
