Hahaha why cuz proper cv angles aren't good for them

 

I got a diff drop kit its more beneficial for 1st gens then 2nd gens but a 1" drop only drops the back of your diff. it gives like 1/2" total

 

Some first gen guys claim vibrations after install. Other claim it starves the front diff from oil to a certain extent. And really they only effect the cv about 1/2"...

My DB has a almost stock angles. You should check them out at the next meet.

I just feel the DB lifts get a bad name. Mostly from people who never used them.

My bad... I didn't even look to see. I guess it was a knee jerk reaction.

 

2nd gens have better CV geometry.. DB lifts put a lot of added strain on components and just give you higher increase of center of gravity.

I'm a 4runner and I know as soon as I put the ome lift on it smoked the axles.
Got new axles and diff drop kit and once I'm not too lazy I'll install and drive it again but till now she sits at the house

 

Super easy to do... if your running stock skids I thought I read somewhere it might touch or something and having to slightly modify but that may have been for 2nd gens or something

They got first gens bruh. Do you have a sub-frame drop bracket or one of those goofy spacers people put in?

 

Not much of a thread lol. Just saying there is more to a cv axle then what's seen (boots) I couldn't care less about boots. They are cheaply replaced. The internals binding is where I have the issue. The differential is disconnected so none of the internals spin at road speeds and are not going crazy when froading because you shouldn't be hauling ass in 4wd anyways. Just my opinion

Just droop it out an check for bind then. If it binds then address the issue where need be. If it doesn't then your good to go unless fins are rubbing but in my case I break cvs before the fins can rub a hole in themselves anyways
