Trucks looking good man. With my calculation of MPG I think your getting more like 11mpg. That's pretty much what I'm getting. Once I'm over my tiny 285/70-17's I'm going to 35's. Then lockers and re-gear for sure to try to bring back the MPG. Looks good bud.

I thought the gas tank was like 17 gallons..? Maybe wrong. I figured there's about 1 gallon left once the lights on. Again I maybe wrong cause thats how I figured it.

Light's supposed to come on with 2-3 gallons left I thought, with the first gens it's 2. something IIRC

When I fill up my truck after the light turns on I fit 18ish gal.

Fuel tank capacity is 21gal. That's total capacity, not at fill-up. If your putting 21gal in at fill-up, you were driving on fumes. Typically when the light turns on, it takes just around 18 to fill. At least that's what it's been taking in my truck. Only once I put 19.8 in it. That was coming back from mammoth, towing a trailer fully loaded with camping gear and family. Filled up in Mojave. I was sweating it when I pulled in. Still had an extra 5gal that I always carry but I was still puckered waiting for that gas station to appear.

I agree. If you manage to put 21 gallons in the tank, there's some possibility of damage to the fuel pump and engine. I.E.; overheating of the fuel pump because the fuel is what helps keeps the pump cool. Also starving the engine of fuel...common sense

First gens have an 18 gallon tank (at least the 4x4 v6 does) so makes sense the 2nd gens would be bigger at 21 gallons

I tapped off a rectangular section around the perimeter of the emblems. Then I was careful on how I held the can because you don't want the dip to build up along the edges. I tried to keep the can perfectly up and down. Sprayed about 4-5 coats and ten minutes after the last coat pulled the tape off and the layer that was against the fender peeled off. Then I just did some minor detail work with a flat tooth pick. The emblems on the tail gate are proving to be more difficult.

I fill up right before the light comes on usually, which gets me about 15 gallons at the pump...I'd have to look at the manual again but I'm almost positive the light is supposed to come on with either 2 or 2.5 gallons left

Bingo! Us 2 gens are 21.1 gallons. Most I've got in was 18. Wasn't happy about that since the pump is in fact inline cooling.

When the light turns on I usually have around 4gal left in the tank, on "E" there is usually around 3ish. After my needle drops slightly below "E" is stays in the same position and doesn't move anymore, most I have ever put in was a little over 19gal.

Don't forget to adjust the mileage for the bigger circumference of your new tires. Not sure what tires your running, if they are toyos then they are pretty true to labeled size, if they are bfg's they are usually a good deal smaller i.e.; a set of 37x12.5x17 ko2's come out to about 35.4". But either way since your speedo is off so is your odometer. You're probably going about 12% farther than your odometer is actually reading.
