Well there's only like 3 staging areas there, but @Mike likes Tacos or @SlipperyTaco will be able to give you the exact location.

Depending on how many total are camping, I vote we do the 2nd or 3rd staging area. The 1st one is the biggest but it's also the most crowded especially on weekends.

That being said, Rowher is busy on weekends and we should be wary of leaving anything behind at the campsite while out on a run. Something to keep in mind. Lots of tweakers roaming in the hills in the Santa Clarita Valley lol.

I'm going to try to pack as lightly as possible and have things I can just throw in bags to toss in the back while we go wheeling. For those that don't know the area too well, Rowher and Drinkwater are only about 10-20 minutes away from major grocery stores/liquor stores/gas stations so if you have to grab something over the course of a couple days, it's easy to do. I wouldn't bother with bringing extra fuel along IMO (if you're like me and your Jerry cans bounce all over the fucking place lol)

Also we should all hit up The Halfway House for some bomb breakfast on Sunday morning, it's just down Sierra Hwy maybe 5 minutes from the Rowher entrance :dancingbacon::hungry:

Because I am now camping on Friday I say we move the Drinkwater Trail meet up to 9:30am. We leave Rowher at 9am and go out to Sierra hwy and take streets to Drinkwater. Gives me and other guys time to have breakfast and get our stuff together. @Sandtaco you still want to run Drinkwater Saturday? Danny, Drinkwater staging area comes up on google maps. Up to you if you want to go out of the way to Rowher camp then roll with us to Drinkwater. I'll be at the Drinkwater Staging area at 9:30 for sure if everybodies on board.

Definetly want to do it. Drinkwater trail then going up the backside of Rowher is a great trail run. We can then eat some lunch back at camp and head up Lookout trail. Solid day of wheeling there.

I'm aiming to be there before sunset so hopefully by 730pm tomorrow night but that's going to be tough I think. Hopefully before 9 lol. Are we doing a night run tomorrow night? Rowher 4x4 trail at night is fun, get to the top and have a few beers in the hurricane force winds overlooking the valley

just keep following the main fire road that runs through Rowher and you'll hit the 3rd staging area at the end. The road twists and turns a bit, takes a solid 15 minutes from the Sierra Hwy entrance to get to the 3rd staging area if you're cruising at 10mph or so...

...or if you're @Mike likes Tacos it takes you less than 5 min lol

yeah it does get pretty rough in spots, I always air down in that little dirt lot area by the entrance off of Sierra Hwy where the Rowher sign is

If this wind is any indication of what it's going to be like out there then no point in even trying to set up a tent. Times like this I wish I had a soft/hard top...

I might try and make it up there Sunday morning and meet up with y'all, if I can make it back from southern Utah on Saturday. I assume you'll be at staging area 3 Sunday morning?

Let me know if you need to me to pick one up for you. The one I went to had a pretty good amount left.

Pretty sure we won't be moving to any other area. Plus there are only 3 staging areas, so shouldn't be hard to locate the group.
