Can a 2007 Tacoma 4x4 TRD be towed behind an RV with all 4 wheels on the road?
If not, is it possible to set it up to be towed?

I think the manual says no. Can be done without damaging the truck with the rear driveshaft disconnected.

They make a device for this occasion.
I personally don’t like the idea of having it on my truck. It’s another thing to fail.

    It’s called a driveshaft disconnect.
It’s up to you if/what one you want.

    Here is on example
    https://www.remcodsc.com/coupling/

Again, I’m not a fan of it.
You’d be better off finding a vehicle that allows both the transmission and transfer case to be disconnected/neutral while in tow. (Like a Jeep?)

You can go to a Full Floating rear axle last I looked the cost for parts was Like $2500.00 if is that on the budget?

Flat Towing makes backing up a real Pain drop the vehicle move as you need reconnect and go down the Road.

Think of a trailer if your touring the country .

This is interesting although I could not track Down a Price.

If you want to flat Tow behind your RV I just don`t picture a fully tricked out 4x4 headed to King Of the Hammers.

Might be something to explore if your touring the Country flat Towing s Rear Wheel Drive Vehicle.

Depends How inclined one is carry your stock drive shaft and swap back.

I understand your Misgivings about more to fail I feel that way About Automatic transmissions to the point i am afraid to even learn how to drive one.

not indicated if U ? auto or manual

in most cases its NOT recommended for extended towing hundreds / thousands o miles

with an auto trans ignition on motor running.............................

there are functions operating in the trans...............................in some cases would NOT be functional

if the drive wheels were rotating

long run the potential to cause issues or damage

Manual or auto? Manual just put it in neutral. Auto needs the driveshaft disconnected at the rear axle (4 bolts), relatively quick to do with an impact and a tarp to lay down on.
I can see this being useful on technical trails where you pull on the cable to do a front dig :D Unfortunately all of the shift fork mechanism in the current design is low-hanging and exposed to contamination.
