Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
I am getting ready to take my '06 TRD OR out of service and replace it with my new '21 TRD OR. Should be taking delivery next week.

I have a winter set of (4) steel wheels that have real snow tires mounted on them. My Toyota parts guy assures me that the wheels are compatible with the '21 TRD. Both are 16".

However, no one seems to know if the relatively new TPMS in the steel wheels can be read by the '21 system. I'd love to have this work without reprogramming every time I swap wheels, but if it doesn't, oh well. Helps to keep my local shop in business.

Anyone have any insight to offer?

    FWIW

I have a set of four TRD Beadlocks with 2nd Gen TPMS. I can read the IDs with my Autel 608, but cannot find the way to upload them into my 3rd Gen ECU. Major costly pain in the ass.

Simplest way is to record the 3rd Gen TPMS IDs and clone them to aftermarket sensors of your choice on the steelies. Are the TPMS on your steelies programmable?

The OEM sensors changed 2G to 3G. The 3G sensors read actual pressure whereas the 2G sensors don't (or at lest don't in the same way).

I don't run sensors in my snow tires. I can usually get 90% of the way to work before the light turns on since my garage is close enough to my cellar that the truck will read my 3-season tires.

I know that doesn't answer your specific TPMS question, but I figured rather than going through the pricey route of buying the sensor programmer, etc, I'll just do a visual on the tires daily and check them with a gauge every couple of days.

I was told by the dealer the 2nd gen tpms i wanted to swap over don't work with 3G tacomas. take that for what it's worth. Makes sense since my 2G didn't measure actual pressure, but my 3G does
