    Stock and loving it
I was simply driving on the street and it felt weak. I drive slow, but not that slow. The thing felt heavy, as well. Very heavy when braking, especially.

But the new 7gr coming in the 16 will make 3000hp so I'm fine with waiting

The engine provides plenty of power, just in the mid to high rpms. I would like to see it and the new Tacoma engine produce a little more power down low. As far as braking goes, I was very impressed with it. It had good stopping power and there was little nose-dive, certainly better than the current Tacoma. Most professional reviews have stated the same.

    I didn't even notice that!

So 270 HP. Too bad they don't give up a number for a what RPM so we can tell the torque! At 5000 RPM that'd give the truck 283 ft lbs of torque, which would be extremely impressive from that motor and very truck like.

So being a full 35 HP below its biggest contender... you'd think their gas numbers would be looking pretty good compared to the GM twins. They need something to hold over GM's head and appease the MPG conscious consumers.

Oooh, I will buy myself a bottle of manly champagne if the Max Hp is at 4700 rpm (very close to 3.4L 5vzfe, which is 4800rpm)....that would be ~300 ft lbs. Awesome stat for marketing to show how truckly the truck is.

That's an official Toyota website. Why wouldn't it be real?

Since when has Toyota cared to be the spec leader on any car other than the Prius (mpg)? The Tacoma has it's reputation because of QDR, not specs.

So... Going by Toyota's Official Press Release we can put to rest the timeline for the Truck hitting the lots - This Fall; and; we now know the HP - 270 hp... unless the Press Release is fake and put out there to confuse everyone...

    It's a conspiracy I tell you!
