I believe it, I saw a guy get thrown agaisnt a 06 f150 door at a bonfire, it messed it up pretty good. A 225lb guy throwing a 200lb guy and doing that damage is possible

^^^x2^^^When you compromise a body line, its nearly impossible to repair. This being more than your average size dent = new skin...

    1. Take an empty Coke can and push in the middle until creases form at the sides
    2. Note how pressing on a slightly curved piece of sheet metal creates sharp creases at the periphery
    3. Compare Coke can experiment to pictures of truck door
    4. Notice incredible similarities
    5. Apply facepalm to forehead ...

The damage is on a crease which is much stronger than an alu Coke can.

Sorry babytruck but I have to disagree ... I spent several years working in a body shop ... repairing creased body panels.

The Coke can analogy is correct, you just have to push a little harder on the center of the door and two guys with momentum will do it. It's plastic versus elastic deformation. You can see the same principle in much smaller dents. The majority of the deformed sheet metal is held out of place by the creases but the creases are a result of pushing in the middle of the panel, not vice versa and the only damaged metal is where it was pushed passed yield. The middle of the panel was probably pushed back much farther than it is now to produce the plastic deformation on the crease. The middle of the panel was below the yield point so it popped back to where it is now.

I agree with either skinning the door or finding a used one. Getting that thing straight pulling the dent will be impossible, sheet metal is just too thin these days.

lol, you didn't have to smack me quite "that" hard ... btw the technical description for that kind of damage is a collapsed rolled buckle

Yeah, that's where all the cost is. Gotta make it match perfect. It's probably going to cost the same to straighten the panel as it would to replace it. More labor, less parts costs.

Got quoted 1300 bucks for "a couple of dents" in a fender awhile back.

Seriously, its a truck, you take it off roading, buy a $20 dent puller from autozone. Whenever I get a dent, I pop off the door panels and tap it out with the bottom of my fist, looks fine.

Or else Toyota is threatening him with death if the public finds out the Tacoma isn't even satellite proof, let alone meteor proof as they claim.
