I don't know about anyone else but I am actually a tech at a dealer.
Like for the 2012 redesign, if there are any major changes Toyota releases it to us August-September. So hold your breath for a little longer and don't believe everything you hear or READ. Here are my thoughts..
-I don't expect a body redesign as that would be a huge retooling of the manufacturing process within the last 2 years.. doesn't make sense.
-The rumour of the direct injection engine intrigues me as Toyota is already playing with this concept in certain markets and as we can see in the frs.

2013 is done. Buildout is over.
2014 is available for fleet orders now, no pricing yet. No changes to the 2014.

Incorrect.... There is a completely redesigned highlander and corolla and the tundra is going through a mid model change as well as the 4runner for 2014.

That's all you will see for 2014 with the exceptions of some end enhancements to other current models.

Yes, there's no replacement for displacement. But a 7-liter four cylinder might be a bit much.

This is Google link spam....looks foreign or computer generated based on the craziness of the statements.

That article is more poorly written than one posted 4 months ago that touted similar bullshit... including that Toyota and Ford were partnering up on an Ecoboost for the Tacoma.

It's all bullshit, including your dealer.

    http://fleet.toyota.com/availability.asp

NO significant changes for 2014 Tacoma.
2014 fleet orders are being accepted now, but pricing will not be made available until next month.

They added 5000 new options including solid axle and 50 inch tires plus luxury items like you find in a tundra and they added a new button called long travel mode so you can jump your yacp plus let's not forget the 200 foot bed!!!!

Apparently it was a video of some sort.

Not that it matters because the first '14 will not be delivered until 8/26.

fu@k hybrid engine.. they don't do crap in power wise.. my 2 cent. if they put in v8 or diesel as secondary choice then its a good deal along with few minor stuffs needs look after.

Electric motors are ALL about torque.
With the right software, they can be real monsters.

You do realize that locomotives are a very primitive form of modern hybrid technology, right?

locomotives use heat to produce steams by burning wood or oil. long before desiel comes along. the technology for hybrid is the "planted" stage right now.
I know my history... and science...
@Oz... you always wanted fuckin heated mirrors and desiel so.. duh the hybrid.

    wut

Anybody living in a climate that gets freezing in winter should want heated mirrors

I said I wouldn't mind a diesel / electric hybrid , that would have torque and power like a mad man

I'd like a turbo 4 cyl diesel. Or diesel hybrid.

OZ.. understandable.... it take time to build the torque right and have the power that comes with it.. as living in the cold area like you.. I had been there. It don't bother me much.. I like cold weather better than humid crap we having in NY.
