Great... You can order a Tacoma. Doesn't mean your going to get it anytime soon. Not sure what you were trying to convey here...

I contacted Toyota directly and asked about the 2014 Model Tacoma.
Toyota informed me that there would be no major changes for the 2014 Model Year. The local dealer told me the same thing.:(

This was very disappointing to me as I wanted to purchase the newer style Tacoma that has been featured in many news stories.

I posted that on June 27th.
The information on the Toyota web site was different at the time.

The question was "when will they be released?"
At the time I posted the link, what I posted in the text of my message was what Toyota had available for public reading.

The "newer style Tacoma" that has been featured in many news articles is the HiLux, available outside of North America (and has been for quite some time, I think 2012 was the last redesign).

And anything said in any of the articles showing that truck is not worth the bandwidth that it took to bring it to your screen. Those articles are as bad as Yahoo's "journalism"

We will likely get a new Tacoma in 2015, and it probably won't look like the HiLux.

It fell short all right, lots shorter than just lack of a skid plate! A couple weeks ago, my dealer phoned to tell me that when they received the allocation for my order, the regional sales rep had added the SR5 pkg, in direct defiance of my wishes and the dealer's sincere attempt to get the base level Spruce Green AC 4x4 I wanted. The dealer was very apologetic and immediately refunded my $500 deposit. This, in spite of Toyota allowing this configuration in this dealer's region. Apparently, the regional sales reps run this car co., insisting on high dollar pkgs.

It has been like getting all my teeth pulled without anesthetic, just trying to get a relatively low priced 4x4 in a green color. So, I hit the easy button and bought a mint, low mileage 2004 Jeep Rubicon in Shale Green, which I like even better than Spruce. To top it off, it has two Dana 44s, both with the factory elockers, and a winch. :)

Sorry about your ordering issues. You will enjoy the Rubi, I'm sure. The factory lockers, however, are not elockers, but air actuated. Two small pumps on the factory skid plate...elockers debut was in 2007.
