When do you turn on your fog lights

It seems as though the discussion has veered to include using "High Beams" that blind oncoming traffic.

I take it for granted Tacoma owners know the Fogs automatically switch off in High Beam mode. (If both are auto-on activated)

I can tell the difference when I see vehicles with LED headlights as opposed to Halogen...Halos look somewhat less ambient/brilliant in appearance.

As I described before, I focus my eyes away from oncoming traffic headlights and look at the right side of the road (seemingly steering slightly in that direction without going off the road! lol) so as not to be close to the center divider.

LEDs aren't too bright for foggy conditions..we've had a couple of foggy mornings here in Delaware and the fogs on my Sport work as advertised.

The direction is clearly pointed downward while the headlights do their best to cut through the fog.

    Yeah.
I've personally found little gain using fog lights on the rare occasion that they might be useful, but I've never lived in a really foggy area and don't do a lot of night driving. I left mine off and rarely used them, so I put driving lights in my aftermarket bumper. I'd only use those on trails, at camp or parked and needing some illumination. Haven't really needed them much either, LOL. Fogs on even when not foggy seems silly to me, but it doesn't really bother me if others do it. People with poorly aimed headlights (ahem, lifted trucks?) or no clue that their high beams are on are much worse.

Removed some stuff, added some stuff.
I guess what I meant to say was not as affective. But the temperature and brightness of the LEDs also play a part in that. But if you have LED fogs that are designed for use in disrupted atmospheres then obviously they will work just fine.
There are a lot of people who don’t think about aiming their headlights. Everything from modded civics to lifted trucks. People just don’t get it.

I found a pic that shows what I'm talking about...low ambient Headlights & Fogs.

LEDs are not as dull as the Halos.

But whatever works for everyone...I can distinguish (I'm sure everyone else can too) the yellow lookin' lights.

The DRLs are very noticeable in contrast.

The DRLs alone look great from a distance!

    And the end result...

    I'm very happy with results.

Mine are on auto and usually always on. Mine are amber and I like contrast with headlights.

I like to turn on my fog lights when I have some light but would like some additional light. When do you guys turn on the lights in your house? I’m gonna venture a guess on this one and say when you have less light in the room you’re in than the amount of light you would like to have. Am I close?

I run the fog lights most of the time at night. Good on country roads to see deer and animals. Good in town to not run over people dressed in all black riding kids bikes on the wrong side of the road. Run all stock bulbs and get flashed with my low beams on.

I don't think most people know that if the fogs are on, the low beams are on. If the high-beams are on, the fogs switch off automatically.
