It is respectable to have a different opinion than someone else. It is however disrespectful to insult others for their opinions...

Fun time now? ok Larry, I find it necessary to help educate you on grammar. When you say "people who do blah are stupid" Then a person could find that insulting. When you say "Bama, because you do this YOU are stupid" I take that as a direct insult. Perhaps now you will understand the process. Perhaps your limited knowledge and experience will prevent you from doing so. This has become comedic now at this point. You are getting more bent out of shape than I did on the first comment.:p

And if YOU were to do a search, I get into many a debate over subjects and don't get into an argument with the other as long as they don't direct an insult to me or someone that I care about. Seems like you should do some searching as well? I again have no problem with people having a different opinion. If you had looked at my posts I say that all the time. What I DO have an issue with is someone who INSULTS someone, just because they do something different than someone else. At this point I will be the bigger man here and end this. I am done with this part of the conversation as it has derailed the OPs thread.

This is true, but once lead car turns if the 2nd car doesn't immediately turn their signal off that can happen. I get what you're saying of course.

I just drive down the road with my hazards on. I figure that way people will assume I may swap lanes at any random time. Might as well prep them to see I'm a wreck waiting to happen.

Some don't understand the difference between calling an action stupid...and calling a person stupid.

And some get insulted when the sun shines...or when it rains.

I blame it on public schools...political correctness...mmgw...or Bush.

I'm still trying to figure out why I'm a lazy dick just because I signal only when signaling is necessary.

It’s said signaling should be a habit, shit washing your hands after using the restroom should be a habit I can't tell you the amount of guys I see who don't. And BTY running your hands under water real quick doesn't count, you have to actually use soap people.

Alright dirty hand rant is now over, back to signaling and who or who isn't an asshole for doing so or not.

I don't think you're an asshole. But then again, I don't wash my hands every time I piss, so you may think I'm an asshole. In that light, you may be an asshole.:D

The problem is, you may not be using your signal to let the driver behind you know the intentions of the driver in front of you.

I'd love to see this poll on a BMW or Audi/VW forum... I have a feeling the results would be the opposite! LOL.

I always signal, sometimes in parking lots i don't when there is no one else there. I feel dirty if i don't signal and there is someone there. People who don't signal here usually get to see my highbeams or hear my horn. Funny, they usually signal their next move....

After reading this post I think maybe I was not being 100% clear on this, now that I have thought about it. I have been here for 3 years now, so it has become habit. It is not that we turn the turn signal on for the car in front and LEAVE it on. If car in front of me turns his on to turn right, we then out of courtesy turn it on and let it flash a couple of times for the person behind us. We don't LEAVE it on the entire time. we simply turn it on for several flashes so that those behind us know someone is turning ahead of us, and which way. Perhaps I should have been more detailed in my description.

I wouldn't call you an asshole because you said that. For me, I always say to do it out of habit all the time because face it, at some point in our lives each of us has missed seeing a car. It is for those times that I say one should always use their signals....Just in case we DON'T see that other car, or the pedestrian waiting to cross the street.
