May be a dumb question, but I was thinking of this today since its the new year. When does the warranty on my truck end? Is it 3 years from purchase date or from the beginning of the model year? So mines a 2011 does that mean warranty ended yesterday? I bought it used so I'm not sure on the orig. purchase date. Just wondering, I have been putting off getting my brakes checked and the thought dawned on me that my truck might be out of warranty. The brakes squeek and the pedal seems to get spongy sometimes. The brakes also lock up and slide in the rain.

Bumper to bumper which would cover the brakes is 36 months from the in-service date or 36K mi (whichever comes first). Powertrain is 60 months or 60K miles. Go to the owners section of Toyota.com, create an account, and put in the VIN #. You should be able to find the original in-service date there.

Btw brakes are usually not covered under warranty. They're considered a wear item.

Your correct on worn out pads. But a malfunctioning brake system would be covered.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm pretty sure the brake issues are not from normal wear. There is a TSB out for the back brakes I believe. Guess I'll just have to take it in and see what they say. I only have 25000 on the truck so I know I'm within warranty mileage. Now just to find a dealer I can trust to work on my truck.
