I will search Craigslist for a free or cheap/damaged sailboat, repair the sail if needed, and mount it in the bed of my Tacoma. Then hope to get blown.

Yes, I don't doubt that but what I'm saying is that jobs in Canada get paid more then the US. Like I said if I moved to Canada I would almost be making double. Same thing goes for a friend who has lived in the US and Canada. She gets paid more to do her job there then the States. That's why vehicles/houses/gas/food are almost twice then what we pay here in the States.

Okay those who will buy another car.. don't u realize the cost of another car and insurance will mean you will have to drive that car for a significant length of time to make back the difference in mileage.. that is unless you assume gas will get to 5 bucks and continue higher... in which case sell the taco now! While its still worth something

Depends. When gas started to skyrocket in '06, we traded a Pathfinder and bought a Yaris. We were immediately in money every month (>$50), even though we had owned the Pathfinder and now had a car payment.

Hey Oz-T, my buddy once told me he knew of a job that paid $100/hr, but it was only 5 minutes work...maybe he has the same one?

You'll be able to afford Universal Health Care like Canuckistan :canada:.
Then you'll want to drive to Mexico because doctor wait times are so long, but you won't afford the gas
Then you'll realize there're lots more uses for :rasta: and you'll begin a real recovery

    Yah right

BTW what fueled earliest diesel engines? what was used in earliest car manufacture? what makes driving my Taco so much fun?

That's not the question I asked , the guy I quoted said the job HE does pays double in Canada as in the US , I was wondering what he did .

I am quite aware of the cost of living in Canada though , thanks :)

i have bad news for everyone, the price of most commodities is going up and you can thank the Federal Reserve for that. they have inflated the money supply alot, so therefore there are more dollars chasing fewer goods so the price of goods go up. oil is going up, food is going up, cotton is going up which means clothes are going up. i read somewhere i few months ago that The Gap(which owns old navy, banana republic and some other stores) said they will be raising their prices 30% come spring. Albertsons announced they will be raising all of their food prices 3%-14% this year, and there is already double digit inflation on alot of food items. as a country if we don't take serious steps to get out of debt, not only nationally but also on a personal level, and if the Fed doesn't raise interests way up and stop creating more dollars out of thin air, it is my belief that we could face hyperinflation this decade. hyperinflation would make our dollar completely worthless and destroy our economy. there is nothing like going to the grocery store and having to pay $10,000,000 for a gallon of milk. if you don't believe me do some research on zimbabwe hyperinflation, or the weimar republic. america is not immune to reality, like physics and all natural law you cannot escape the basic principles of economics. if you get in debt and try to inflate your money supply so you can pay it off you will cause drastic inflation. in the 1970s, the Fed increased the money supply by 13% and to reign in inflation the Fed had to set the interest rate at %20. in the past few years the Fed has increased the money supply by over %120. what do you think they will have to raise the interest rate to to reign in inflation now? 100%, 150%? the truth is coming out, the US cannot pay off it debts, and eventually our creditors will lose all faith in us and sell off all the bonds they hold, flooding even more dollars into the market, and i think when that happens the OPEC nations will stop selling oil in US dollors and start selling in some other currency or basket of currencies. either way i think we are looking at a pretty bleak decade. i say invest in gold, guns and food.

Actually its about $1.20 more for taxes 1 gallon ~ 4 Liters

so minus taxes at $4.88 you'd pay about $3.68 about $.70 cents more than we would without taxes... that $.70 could be anything... distribution costs, refinement costs, or local markup

The price of gas varies a lot down here... I paid $3.45 for gas the other day, but my GF paid ~$2.50 for gas 2 weeks ago in Colorado.

I feel bad for you Canadians more than Europeans because you have a big country with a lot of driving to be done whereas the Europeans have little tiny countries and no where to go.

I've already felt the pinch considering my truck get 14 mpg at best... I ride my Ninja pretty much everywhere
