When I shift to manual, it always starts in 4th gear. Is this normal.

    S-mode has speed sensitivity. It won’t downshift to S4 (drive) if you are going too fast for the capabilities of that gear, nor will it upshift to S4 if you are going slower than the prescribed speed for that gear.
