I had one of these in black. I figured out I could tape to D cell batteries in the bed and wire them up in series with the AA batteries that ran the truck. Ran like a champ until I burned the motor up. :(

We were the first in the neighborhood with the Atari which was so cool for me since I was usually behind on all other stuff. All my friends had been to Six Flags, Braves games and so many things I never did until my teens. At least I did have something first. :D

Never had one of these but my cousin did. Got to play with it on occasion.

Who is old enough to remember getting cable TV for the first time...the old slide channel changer was fun to play with!!

Then you could opt for the upgraded push button channel changer....

Not really a toy (or thats what your parents told you) but lots of fun!! :D

We didn't get cable until I was a bit older, so by the time we got it they had came out with the digital boxes. but I do remember the 2nd one though. Also remember watching some "illegal" channels. :D I remember the scrambled Playboy channel wasn't so scrambled, on our set at least.

I also remember before remote controls. I would sit in the chair right beside the tv in reach of the dial and could change channels faster than any remote. :D:eek:

So anyone else used to have BB gun wars? I got hit a time or two. Boy the things we did as kids would get a kid today in big big trouble!

I remember riding my bike all day long and couldn't keep me in the house. My parents would have to practically drag me in the house for dinner. Now you can't hardly get kids outside the house.

This is so true, i probably rode my bike 10 miles everyday just around my town, to friends houses, to get food, hell half the time we all got on our bikes and we just rode around and caused trouble. i remember coming home, Eatinf and going back out! i was so freaking tired when i got home, there was no such thing as insomnia and restless leg Crap. Haha man i miss being a kid!

    .
All we did was ride bikes and cause trouble, all day, all night, there's a canal trail that the cops couldn't drive on, it's a great way to get across the valley quickly without being seen, the carnage we caused....

but my excuse for still having this one is I bought it in the 80s to teach myself some electronics theories for my radio hobby:D
...and it is fun to break out and build something now+then.

Loved it! Pasted it to the comic strips in the newspaper to "copy" them.
    Mine too.

My first program was on punched cards for a Wang, first computer I used with a keyboard was a TRS80 Model-I in the electronics lab. Next computer I used was a DEC-10 at Cerritos College, and ultimately the Apple-II's at Cypress.

But the first computer I actually owned was the C64. Upgraded from that to a Tandy 1000EX.
I think I still have one arounhd somewhere. Bought the joystick adapters for the control pads :D
Vic20 had the membrane keyboard. That was the C64.
