When is the E-Locker Engaged?

    The dash light blinks but the axles are locked.

    2002 4x4 TRD, no gray wire mod, no ABS.

    I have not had a problem until re-gearing recently. The RR Diff Lock indicator on the dash is blinking and will not go solid as it did in the past. I have tried all the normal techniques to get it to engage, yet nothing will make the dash light stop blinking.

    The dash indicator is presumably telling me that the locker is not fully engaged. Yet the evidence shows the locker is engaged. I’ve used the e-locker on this truck enough in the past to know when the locker is engaged and when it isn’t just by the way the truck drives. Plus, when I disengage the locker with the button on the dash, I can hear a click (relay noise) from the dash area behind the button as well as the normal disengage sound made by the locker actuator mechanism on the diff.

    My concern is that the locking mechanism is in fact only partially engaged, making locker vulnerable to damage though hard use.

    Are there any other indicators if the locker is not fully engaged? How are the center differential lock switch (see pic) and differential lock actuator powered? Is there a fuse involved? I looked at both fuse panels but nothing was marked with anything remotely reminiscent of the rear diff lock.

    Feedback, thoughts or insights are greatly appreciated.

    Can you expand on this? What would this tell me?

    Is it just a matter of unplugging the connector on the actuator? I have not tried that while it was engaged. I have verified that connector is properly connected.

    Does that gear rotate to engage and disengage? I looks like it does but the descriptions under the pics seem to say otherwise.

    Does the truck need to be running while I do this? Is it enough for just the ignition switch to be in the ON position?

    After manually disengaging the locker and reassembling the actuator, it would have been in 4lo with the dash button already pressed. Did you disengage 4x4, 4lo and the diff lock button before restarting the truck?

    Sorry about all the questions, just a little unclear on the sequence you used?

    I didn't see a link to the thread you mentioned.
