It's a crap design, always has been and always will be. If you have to lean on a breaker bar to release a 10mm Allen that's not good. Get the plugs out then replace them with the direct swap 14mm Lexus plugs. A six-point socket on a 14mm hex is worlds better than that 10mm Allen socket. $35 at the Lexus dealer of your choice for both 14mm drain/fill plugs.

Luckily my Front Diff bolts came off easy. I did both my Diffs about 35k mi. They could have gone much longer. Went with Redline since it's matching weight. I've always used Amsoil Severe Gear in previous trucks. I'll probably change again at 70k miles. It's easy and kinda fun to do. The Capri Sun pouches are WAY better than a bottle and pump. I wish Redline made the pouches.

Yes I have both fill and drain Lexus plugs. Replaced fill w hex since it was easy enough. If I can get the drain plug out for sure it’s going in the trash and hex goes in.

Thanks, ordered and will give that one more shot before I completely give up. You have to wonder what the plug will look like if that tool shreds it.
