Check with your garbage pickup service. My used oil is picked up at the curb as part of recycling.

Ok....here we go. I'll reiterate what I said about these types of threads. They're all the same. I'm out.

P.S....no, I don't believe there is some sort of evil conspiracy on Toyota's part (and the part of other manufacturers for that matter) to shorten the life of engines. Oil tech has simply come along way in the last 20 years.

    Now I'm out

My point is 0W20 is because of CAFE requirements and the 10k OCI is because of Toyota Care. If they’re doing free oil changes they want to do it less which saves Toyota Corp tens of millions a year.

Agreed oil tech is much more advanced than decades past especially for synthetics and add packs.

My first oil change I did was around 2,500 miles, just for peace of mind during the break in period. After that I've changed at 7,500 mile intervals. It is my truck and my money spent so I do what I feel is best for my vehicle as everyone else is entitled to. My township takes our old oil, just have to drop it off. This type of thread can get heated lol, that's why we need some @stun gun .

Apparently it depends o the dealership.
Toyota just paid for mine at 4,200 miles. But it has been a year since I bought it so they said it was time anyway. They did however write that it was done at 5k to comply with Toyota America I suppose lol.

Yeah regardless of how little mileage they'd have to change it once you hit the 1 year mark. 10k miles or 12 months, whichever is first.

Well I just don’t agreee. I’ve seen too many UOAs where a more frequent OCI (more than the manufacturers recommendation) is of benefit especially in scenarios where the rate of engine wear increases at higher OCI. Also, TBN falls, contaminants increase and cheaper synthetics like Mobil 1 (regular) shear completely out of weight within 10k miles.

That’s good especially for M1. As you know all scenarios are not the same. Glad to see it’s working for you and the Highlander.
