Hey guys, I have an 05 taco with about 110,000k on her. Ive only had it since it was at about 90,000 or so and I havent had any prbms with the clutch slipping or anything but it got me thinking. How many people on here have had their clutch replaced, and how many kms/miles did you put on before you needed it done? also, did it significantly improve the power/drive at all? thx!

Replace the clutch once you can no longer select first and reverse without the transmission synchronizers grinding .
There is no recomended interval for clutch replacement .

Most replies here will be all about how the drivers use the clutch .

Average life for a clutch is around 150k, just drive it until it starts slipping then replace. There is a guy on here with over 300k on his 6 speed and still has the original clutch.

And when you do replace, I suggest you look at Marlin Crawler for a replacement.

When it starts slipping try to find the time to replace it your self or get it done. some people can toast a clutch in 20k miles (like me) and some like my machinist takes 500k and still running strong. i would not suggest a certain brand of clutch each have there pros and cons and some are for other purposes than others.
