I have a 2009 TRD 4x4, 4.0 engine with 95000 miles. I maintain it well and have since I bought it new. I think after almost 10 years and almost 100000 miles I should replace the radiator hoses and I am doing so later this week. I know hoses can last longer but I do not want failure while in some remote place cause you know that’s where it will happen. The maintenance schedule says nothing about interval replacement. What are your opinions? Replace them at 10 years or 100000 miles or replace them sooner or later?

I just changed mine at 200k and they were in great condition, still flexible, no hard spots and not even stuck on. I believe the coolant is recommended to be flushed at 10 years but while you’re in there might as well do hoses and thermostat too. I recommend going with oem parts again. There’s a great write up on here for a flush.

Honestly do whatever gives you peace of mind.
Radiator hose failure is nearly non existant on these vehicles. Have a customer with 600k on a 14 tundra and 500k on a 08. Both have original hoses.

I’d only change them if I were doing a water pump and/or thermostat. Then it’s a “why not” since you’ll be flushing the system at that point anyway.

If you off road, I recommend replacing them now and throw the OEM hoses in your storage bin to serve as back ups when you hit the trail. Did same with serpentine belt.

I have 217k pretty much hard miles on mine...I had a leak in one of the top small ones...very small...but enough to bother me. I replaced that..before I do the Red Clay Rally in June I'm going to do them all.
