Been trying to figure out what is triggering my dash, rear and tag lights to go out once the brake switch is triggered and the truck has been remote started...

If its remote started all lights come on and work fine, but as soon as you hit the brakes and the brake switch is triggered out go the dash, rear and tag lights.

Searched the threads but nothing definitive.

    Welcome to Tacoma World!

Did the problem just start happening, as in was the remote start installed all along and the light issue just started? Or is the remote start option newly installed and the light problem happened simultaneously?

Does the same issue happen when you don't use remote start, i.e. you use the key to start it conventionally? If it only happens with remote start, most likely something in remote start module or wiring.

I don't know much about remote start other than I personally dislike it because usually it causes gremlins at some point (and I like less problems not more). I'd start by looking at that module/function/circuit.

The lights only work when the remote start is engaged and kick off once the brake switch is engaged. If key started lights do not work...thinking relay, but really have no idea.

It just started happening. There's a trailer splitter but since the lights all work with the autostarter assuming its not wiring but in a relay or something in the autostart harness.

anybody with an idea on where to start with this other than removing the brain and/or wiring harness of the autostart? is there a thread that covers steps to diagnose issue?
