I clean my engine each time I wash the vehicle ... I have never let my engine get dirty.

Just takes 5 minutes and keeps it looking good for life.

I’ve never washed my engine. However the dealer has washed it for me. They used a low pressure power washer and cleaned all the mud and dirt off the inside. Not sure if they taped anything off, or sealed anything. However I never had issues related to the washing and never did. Sold the Tacoma a year ago though. But doubt it had anything from it.

Not gonna lie I'm a bit jealous of all these clean engine bays! I have superclean and 303 in my Amazon cart now.

You dont need to go fancy. look at what a used. an old rag, soapy water and a bucket. just make sure you wipe the soap off with clean water after you are done and then dry everything clean

You know I’ve tried this a couple of times but have found it really difficult to get into the nooks and crannies. I have some dirt/mud that’s just caked on in the hard to reach places and I think the degreaser will help. Also I’m a stickler for time savings wherever I can get it. Your engine bay looks great though!

I don’t clean as much as I should but I do once in awhile. I use soapy water to get started with agitation, some general purpose go get any oil off, let dry and with a paper towel use some 303 to make the black pop. Obviously it’s unnecessary to use it as a UV protectant in this case.

After a wash I've used the remainder of a rinseless wash bucket and a couple of microfibers. A spray bottle of the solution too if you want to go after grime, use a boars hair brush to go after seams and crevices. Mop it up with a dry towel. You can definitely maintain it without degreasers and running water if that is an issue. I usually only mess with it once a year, if that more or less engine check maintenance.
