    Last Fall:
Lemon Pledge, small clean white terrycloth shop towels and a small natural soft bristle paint brush to get into the seams and spaces on the air-intake hose, etc. Spray it down and wipe it off. I like the Lemon Pledge because it evaporates over-time and doesn't build up.

This was my engine bay upon taking delivery at the dealer. Truck had 6 miles on it. They claimed their detail guys had left early and didn't have a chance to do the engine bay. I have since wiped it down. But still pissed about that.
When I first saw it, I was like "Oh, cool camo pattern!"
Wonder what happened at the factory or the transport to the dealer to cause this? It was really light, didnt seem like mud.
When Toyota sent me the dealer survey, I complained about this and have had ZERO response.

I used to neglect it because my uneducated self thought it would not let the truck start. Now I do it every time I wash the truck but I really shouldn’t be doing that. I need inner fenders to protect the bay from dirt/mud.

I used to work near a Ford plant and we'd see the guys driving the vehicles out of the factory and loading them onto the haulers. To say it looked like the drivers were auditioning for the World Rally Championship would be an understatement. I'm betting a guy had a bit of fun with your truck; it just didn't get detailed before you got it.

I’ve always kept mine clean. Although unfortunately, i’ve had several electrical issues because of it. Gotta be careful.

Whenever I take the hose to my engine, the setting is always on the soft spray. I kind of cringe when I see guys taking the power washer and blasting literally every nook & cranny in the engine bay.

Anyone ever remove the plastic engine cover and leave it off? I'm just curious as I think it's just for cosmetics, and traps in heat (I guess it depends on the climate you live in). I do clean under the hood, but not every time I wash the vehicle. Just wondering what the pro's and con's are for running it without that big plastic engine cover?
