2 big ones lately...getting rear-ended, and getting it stolen. Getting it stolen was definitely more of an "Awww...shit" moment.

Driving through three feet of water during the floods in south Florida this January. I was up on the shallowest side of the road, and I wasn't sure if I was gonna make it or not.

I had the right side tires up on the curb to try and keep the intake up and actually dipped the drivers' side mirror into the water.

That was a pucker factor 9.

Fun video to make though :)

About this time last year. Wake up and go to get in my truck to find it was not in front of my house anymore.... Oh SHIT! lol As far as I know to date it has still not been recovered so likely it was parted out and now part of 1000+ trucks. That was an '10.

After jumping through a number of hoops with insurance and a couple of rental cars I am once again part of the tacoma family :)

    So much this.

When what you thought was a shallow puddle suddenly laps over the lip of the hood and coming up at the windshield, you're all "Oh, fuck meeeeeeeee"

I've only had my truck for 7 months, so nothing big. A few months ago at the beach a buddy laid down a few 7' fishing poles in the bed with the tips extending into the rear door area. I turned around, slammed the door shut, sandwiched the ends of the rods in it and scratched up the door jamb.

This past January and the first winter with my Tacoma. 5 inches of snow on a 5% grade and the ABS wouldn't let the truck tires dig in to stop. It took about 200 ft to stop from 20mph. I plan on doing the ABS mod before this coming winter.

About 4 years ago in my Preruner. I found a great dove field but the road in was dirt and after a 2" rain it was a muddy mess. Near the entrance there was a 8' culvert. I crossed it and headed up the hill but only made it half way. A dude in a 4x4 started to pull me out but the truck slide sideways off the road and hung up on the culvert. The left side of the frame is all that kept it from tumbling down 20' in to a creek. Fortunately it was a metall culvert with ridges. When I opened the door I had about a foot of culvert to stand on. I had pics at one time. I had to get a wrecker out the next day to extract it. He hooked a harness to the right front tire and lifted the back end and slowly pulled it sideways working 2 winches.

Was backing out of my carport and forgot my daughters Toyota Mini van was parked behind me. Broke my tail light($68) and bent the bumper a little(straighten it myself). The mini van didn't fair so well ($3,700), got the brunt of my trailer hitch.

Ha alright Nick, I'll keep it in mind. We'll definitely be doing something for it! I'll let you know.
Frame was complete toast. Front suspension took most of the impact to the other car (little saturn) so it transferred the load through the frame and bent it up good. Yes, cab bolts tore through the floor, and the weight of the rack/tent bent the bed supports. Plus all the cosmetic damage. Only good thing left was the drivetrain and my accessories. :(

Sounds good. Have Nathan give me a heads up so I can get in the front of the line. Also, How many beers is the install going to cost? My hands are shaky with a grinder...

Last winter I was driving up a FS road in low range 3rd gear. I came to a steep curve and got up it with no problem. Coming back down I was in 3rd gear, should have been in 1st low. It was and icy bobsled run, like those dreams where your brakes don't work. I will do the ABS mod before winter.

Which thread is good for my 2009 regular cab 4wd?

I had a similar "oh shit" moment in my '09. ABS on these trucks is scary.
