When will it arrive?

Ok I got an email yesterday. Why would Toyota send this? Has my VIN attached to it. Does it mean they have shipped to the dealer?

 

Your dealer must have identified you with the vehicle in Toyota's system - owners get this email to sign their vehicles up. It probably has shipped...but your dealer could easily tell you that by looking at their inventory system.

 

I can't wait to get an email like that. Oct 19 estimated build date...Nov can't come too soon.

 

That’s the problem. I’m getting almost zero communication from the dealer. I have to actually drive down and go see the sales manager. Getting tired of that and will be reviewing them harshly.

 

Nice. I found out the VIN that was assigned post build from my dealer, and went ahead and registered. On the spec page, last week it didn’t show any dealer information in the table - today it shows my dealer in the “preferred dealer” row. Looks like it’s getting closer.

 

Ok just got a text from the salesman saying my truck is in the ground. This happened 30 minutes after I left a scathing review per Toyota’s request for a review. Could be coincidence.

Should I tell them I’m on vacation and let it sit there (and tie up their funds) for a month or just go get it? I’ll probably go get it but would like to make them wait a while for their zero communication.

My salesman sent me a screenshot of my new trucks' journey. As of yesterday, it was in Laredo, TX. Does it really take 2 weeks to go from TX to KC distribution via rail? From central Mexico Toyota plant to TX, it took about 7 days. Right now, looks like it will arrive in KC on 11/14, and to my dealer about 11/17 (mid-Missouri). I hope it gets here earlier than that. Seems like a LONG time for rail transport. Any thoughts?

 

I think its more a factor of rail schedules than distance. The rail schedule for my truck was right on the mark and it hit the dealership on the 1st day of the delivery window. Hope yours is faster!!!

 

They don’t just ship your truck. Add 1-2 weeks to the 11/17 date. Ask for a weekly DD to see actual dates. Mine came in 1 week later than originally shown. Not bad to me. It was 3 weeks longer than the estimate they gave me when I ordered it.

 

I got the same. My truck came 1-2 days later.

 

I had an original estimated date of 10/8-10/13. That got then pushed back to 10/19 - 10/26. It arrived on 10/26, and brought it home on 10/29. YMMV.

It was very easy while sitting and putting down my money to tell myself/salesman that I am in no rush, no problem waiting etc, warned it may take longer, etc etc... But then you start getting teased with the dates and all that patience/self-discipline goes out the window.

 

Do you know when yours was produced at the factory, and which one?
