Looking to order a 2019 tacoma with everything I want in it. When will they be avaible to order or when will they start hitting the dealerships. I'm looking at 17s and 18s. Upgrading from a 2002 with 285k and it's costing to much in general repairs it's not worth keeping anymore. Considering getting a 18 ,depending when the 2019s will start showing up.

    Thanks in advance

2019s won't be out until probably the fall. Not going to be anything ground breaking on the 19s that aren't on the 18s. Probably not worth waiting.

In June 2017 I was a able to order a 2018, but I found a pro in a manual like I wanted and just got a 17. Good luck! Hope you're not trying to find a manual because it took me two months to find one.

Ordering and showing up can be quite a difference. Weren't the first 18s hitting the lots in November?

Probably about right. Toyota's take about 3-4 months to receive an order, from what a family member who works for Toyota told me.

Typical intro is around September with some orders taken 6-8 weeks ahead, depending on Toyota and the dealer.

For example, a dealer may take your pre order based on what they know about '18's packages, but give you neither final pricing nor final option selection until they have Toyota docs in their hands.

Other than a color or two, can't imagine too much difference, other than prices being higher.

Suggest you test drive a lot of '16-'17-'18 models and make sure it is what you want. There are a lot of trade ins out there already, and posters around here whining about what the truck has/doesn't have will/won't do. Most all of which would have been revealed with extended test drives and paying attention, not lost in the new car smell and technology.

Earliest would be August. Latest could be December.

16s and 17s were on the lots around August-September. 18s came a bit later I think.

I would get a leftover 18 as soon as the 19's start hitting the lots if I was in the market for an AT.

Depending on where you are and how many dealers are around you, you may be able to get an amazing deal!

I couldn't imagine the kind of patience you have, lol. I'd be getting itchy about week 3.

Sorry, I'm an idiot... I mean Oct. 2016, not 2017. I wouldn't have that kind of patience either!

Will the 2019s come with all of the same problems the 2016, 2017, and 2018 came with? My money is on YES

Me neither. A quick flip through his posts and you'd think Smitty was back with a new username.

Not buying a first year redesign would make sense. I doubt Toyota would let a list of issues go unresolved after the 2nd year. If there are recalls, then that would also get addressed as well. I remember reading/hearing somewhere that most of the smaller "issues" account for about 1% of almost all (Tacoma) sales. That is a pretty small number, and is a % that I would be willing to bet against when purchasing a new Tacoma. I am also willing to bet that the 1% of those that are currently having issues with the newer Tacoma are posting on TW and that is why we see those posts. It is unfortunate that we do not see a proportionate (maybe we do) number that are posting the praises of the newer Tacoma.

The only problem my 17 has is it seems to like tree branch tickles. Nothing problematic, 36k KM.
