I asked a nice looking blonde with a lifted white 3rd gen if she wanted to trade her sport hood... she said "no tradesies hehe but nice truck" light turned green. Other then that everyone is too "macho" to acknowledge a tastefully moded truck to one another so fuck it...i come from the muscle car scene where every fucker wants to race at a stop light.

So, so many normally meek & mild people when they get behind the wheel of a vehicle simply lose their minds that I try to not make eye contact... I believe it's some sorta power trip...

Stock AF. My 68 Bronco and 2000 2.5RS get the mods.
I had a built TJ when the JKs started coming out and the wave took a quick turn. The wave in any type of enthusiast vehicle is directly related to either the rarity of them or how miserable/needy they are when out of their element. Same with Subarus, or at least the weird ones of those too. Pre-2002 and the introduction of the USDM WRX, if you were playing with a subaru for fun, you were a little deranged and seeing another damaged person was worth a 2-finger, steering wheel wave. Then came the douchebros, flatbills and vapes and, well, they're dead to me. They sure notice my GC though.

Tacoma wave? Hell naw. Nearly the most common truck around with it's own subset of pseudo overlanding/squatted/Patagonia flatbill wearing/molon aabe/don't tread on me/[gun brand] sticker on back window/something else that someone on here will find offensive, ball-bags... keep it to yourself. I like my truck but it's not special and neither is theirs.

Guess for me it just depends as I see these below:

stock truck = no interest, they’re everywhere.

Dealer lift + 285s = no interest, also everywhere.

dude with 6” bracket lift with 18-20” wheels + 35s = always like a good laugh.

only time I’ll really look over a 3rd gen is if it’s an access cab that I can tell has very little if any lift and I can tell they did some chopping for big meats.
Other than that, any SASd 1st gen always turns my head if it isn’t a hack job, just so sexy! Lol

When I’m close to shitting my pants, a stop light is the last place I want to be - I need a distraction....

I've notice something weird having an access cab quicksand tacoma that other tacoma quicksand drivers will give you the the thumbs up quite often. Been on fishing trips in my buddies 2019 silver trd OR, and my silver/gray tundra, but never had this happen. Even the birds seem to gravitate toward this quicksand color to poop on.
