2010 a couple days after I bought it, had just under 23k miles.

And a pic from a couple weeks ago, now has 57k miles. A few minor changes but still mostly stock.

NiCE tailgate! i for one recall being a bit upset in 1998 when that rear logo style disappeared on the 4x4, i don't recall when it changed on the 5 lug

i suppose it was a case of out with the old and in with the new millennium

Here's my boring contribution but I'm proud of my old truck too.

Never took pics of it when I bought it brand-new in 2001, but no matter because even today it still looks pretty close to brand-new.
Here it is when it was 7 years old in 2008

and here it was in August 2018

perhaps my sister might have some analog pics in her scrapbook from when it was new, got it about 2 months before she got married in summer '97

just got the paint corrected and sealed up for the winter, removed most all of the Wisconsin forest scratches from this past summers mid west TW meet
currently missing the hood protector and chrome wheel moldings, i needed the paint behind those cleaned up as well.

the only real exterior change i guess has been the LineX spray liner to replace original plastic dropIn, new tires and catback exhaust + muffler with a million mile warranty against corrosion
the truck still handles the smoothest of highways at 90mph with no shimmy no wobble wobble all on original suspension components!

and here we are trying to do some last-minute weatherproof undercoating underneath while the temps are near 40 still :santa:
froze my bare knuckles darn near trying to protect this mid west truck, they are a dying breed around here!
thank goodness i have never had the luxury of a heated garage

I'm in damn good company starting with yours brother. And I don't have half the weather-related crap beating at mine as you do! Guys like you and critter whose trucks are in the fine condition they are means you have to work at it a lot harder than I have over the years. But I digress just enough to get in the idea that yeah-I am one of those guys who always keeps it clean and stays after the paint and everything else. Never let it get too far gone!

Technically not a truck, but I used it as one. It is still the most bad ass 4X4 I've ever owned. 1968 IH Scout bought used in 1976 for $1000. 392 V8, 5 speed with double low, dual gas tanks, hand throttle and a skid plate that went from front axle to rear axle, frame rail to frame rail. It was slick on the bottom. Incredible power to size ratio. I used to get calls to pull people out of jams all the time. It would fit into places bigger rigs would not and still have the power to pull once there. I have no idea what the axle ratio was, but suspect at least 4.10's. Fuel mileage was in single digits.

    img004.jpg

1st truck, 1975 Jeep bought used in 1979 for $5000. Another one with single digit fuel mileage. The best it ever did was 11 mpg on a 200 mile road trip.

    img007.jpg

My 07 Tacoma, bought new and still in the driveway with 202,000 miles

    newton search 014.jpg

Still have the Tacoma, but also drive a 2014 F150 bought used in 2016.
