Half cord of cherry cut from my friends building lot. I would rather have 1 cord of lodge pole but didn’t get time this year to harvest it. (The white dust is diatomaceous earth to keep the bugs down).

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Black oak and red oak are in the same "family" Pin oaks also are in this grouping. Main way to tell diffs is the blacks, reds and pins all have sharp pointed leaf lobes while the white family has rounded lobes on the leaves. There are some odd-balls like the "water oak" and the "Chinkapin oaks with the latter looking like an exaggerated white elm leaf.
The "mandrone" is a new one to me -- I will look that one up!

Looks like the "mandrone" is right up there on heat content (BTU's) with the oaks -- some say even better! Good stuff

I have a soft spot for pin oaks, my mother planted one in our yard when I was born. It's a slight bit taller than I am now though.

Madrone is the best I've ever burned. Can be hard splitting in some conditions. Also a very slow growing tree so can be hard to come by in good supply. Where I am a lot of times people selling madrone have poached it unfortunately.

It's a beautiful tree as well.

It’s our favorite round here. It’s funny, a small community where I’m at and we all eyeball the same madrones, waiting for them to drop that last green leaf, then go to harvest it and it’s gone. But we usually can drive straight to the house of who we think cut it and demand a beer for cutting our tree.

Stihl for me. It's the Toyota of the Saw world. Not the fastest, not the highest reving, not the lightest, doesn't start on the first pull, but always reliable.

We had to remove one at our job due to rotten tops overhanging a building that was 6' through at the butt

I'm still using an early 90's 026. Grabbed it from CL after I purchased my house 3 years ago, best $250 I ever spent.

Now that I'm not house-poor I keep telling myself that it's time for an upgrade, but the damn thing just keeps going.

I grew up using a 026! I love that thing! My parents still use it round the yard. Now I don’t know if I could live without my “hopped up” 461 magnum! That puppy barks!
