I found a manual in an old 80's pickup that was really cool. Had cool pictures of them coming off ships and things. I had kept it but lost it in a house fire which I'm pretty bummed about. :( Hopefully somebody has one somewhere in this world still lol.

I also recall reading that all Manual Trans versions come from Texas too, not sure if that is true or not though.

The Dealer I ordered from said they take the train from Texas up to a massive port in Chicago and then load onto trucks there.

Do you need to know, or care?
Personally, don't care where it comes from. Give me quality and a good product, I'll buy what is in my best interest. Value and quality for my hard earned dollars is what matters. Do not care where it originates from, it's the value and quality the matters that makes the difference.

I completely agree with your statement, but I also support American made products. It's nice to have a quality made product that was mostly assembled in the U.S. It's just the idea behind it all.

Surprised by the lack of color. Would have expected more blue and reds in there.

Reading that article caused me some confusion, it says they only build the Double Cabs in Mexico but have 8 different Engine and Trans combos, wonder what all the Engine and Trans Combos are?

    Truck stuff
I had to find out the day I bought my truck where it was assembled. I was expecting it to be Texas born since I am in Texas. I researched for a few seconds with good old google and learned the Vin identification "5" to find out that it was built here in the states. While it didnt really make a difference what plant it was assembled in, I liked that Americans were paid to build my truck.

I am hoping the 17 I have on Order gets built in Texas, I much prefer that over Mexico.

Personally I like to support the greatest country in the world. And I would rather have Americans working than to have our cities like Detroit turn in to hell holes because Toyota wants to make more profit with cheap low skilled Mexican labor.

Glad my Sienna van was made by fairly compensated workers in Indiana. The only thing we need from Mexico is out of season fruit, not cars.

The questions I have is if you don't know where the truck is being built when you order it, you find out you can get the exact truck you want in 5 weeks, do you cancel your order when you find out it was built in Mexico? Knowing that your alternative is to either get a different truck than what you want, or wait months until the US plant make your variant, if they ever make your variant?

Personally, I'll try my luck with the Baja truck. Maybe I'll ask for a larger discount...

Ain't nothing wrong with the Mexican built Tacos. In fact, I believe they are better quality.

I was bummed when I found out mine wasn't built in Texas though

I saw a wrecked DBSB OR manual on eBay with a Mexican VIN once.

If I wasn't in a rush to have a vehicle I would personally wait for a US made truck to be produced.
