My only regret, besides getting a 16 Tacoma, is not getting the long bed version. I live in the city so I thought I would have trouble parking it on the street or in parking garages.

In hindsight, I've probably only been in a situation where that mattered twice in the year I've owned it. Maybe a few more times than that, but the number of times I wish I had an extra foot in the bed is pretty significant. I went on a big kayak camping trip where we all piled into the truck and that extra foot would have been really nice for stowing gear. Also, being able to throw a kayak in the back would worrying too much if its gonna flip out of the back (or if I need to buy a trailer or hideous bed extender). Not to mention I'd consider a cap, but a cap on a short bed seems like a waste.

I also really like the look of them more. The SB's look lopsided from the wrong angles. I think that extra foot makes the truck's lines look better.

agree 100% that the DCLB looks better.

DCSB looks horrendous, though not as bad as the Tundra Crewmax which looks like a sumo wrestler (front) wearing a thong (rear)

To me the best proportion Taco is the ACLB and the best proportion Tundra is the DoubleCab 8 feet bed

Long bed or bust. They do need a bit of a lift to look proportioned correctly. 1.5" front and 1" 5100 kit

    I agree 100%.

I agonized over that decision for a long time, but unfortunately I have friends, family, a girlfriend, a dog, etc that makes the DC a necessity. I probably could have made the AC version work, but I am glad that I got the dual cab.

I agree with Stiffler that a bit of a lift is needed for optimum looks. Stock, I almost think the SB looks more correct but lifted, I really like the LB. Ironically, having posed this question today, i happened to come out of the doc's office to find another LB intenionally (I assume since there were spots everywhere) parked right next to mine (the MGM is mine).LB.jpg taco2.jpg

I like that. Great looking truck!
Did your rear bumper come paint match black or did you do that yourself? Mine came with the mix of black and chrome and I want the chrome gone!

Had to have the OR AC, no use for DC, and needed bed space. Shoulda went to Canada to get the OR with MT, but I have adjusted to the auto. Its not ideal, but I have adjusted to how it works and its fine.

According to Toyota specs the breakover angle is the same for long bed to short bed. Unless I am reading their specs wrong?

    Wooo Hooooo

I always thought it was worse in the long Bed. Shoots a hole right in the Small Bed argument. I mean another hole
