I don't own a Ford because my interests are more into off roading than into hauling stuff. Ford F150s are REAL trucks, they never needed a TSB to keep the rear end from sagging. I realize this is an apples to applesauce comparison so I will stop there, but Toyota better hope that Ford doesn't increase the size of the Ranger when they release it as the F100.

You are so far off base with your points about direct injection I am not going to legitimize them with a over thought answer. Just go to Mazdaspeedforums.org and educate yourself about direct injection. EVERY MS3 has reduced backpressure in the exhaust yet they still have the same problems. Fuel pressure ranges from 900 to 1700 PSI, yet there are still issues. I spent the past three years deciphering the in and outs of direct injection with very knowledgeable tuners on the car I traded in on the Tacoma. Trust me when I say, the only people who benefit from direct injection are the manufacturers. They can have a motor that meets EPA numbers, needs more oil changes, and will need a major overhaul after about 120K miles. By the way if they moved the injector to just before the intake valve, it would be port injection, not direct injection. You need to really go do some direct injection research before you comment any further on it.

EDIT: These problems are so well documented that Ford reduced the fuel pressure to cut back on fuel dilution and they also added a better PCV system and somewhat shrouded the intake valve to combat the carbon buildup. These engines are so new that it is too early to see if these changes worked. The cars that are having issues with these things are Mazdas, BMWs, Porsches, and Chevys, not Fords.

Please provide reasoning why Direct Injection has no benefit to 4 stroke. I am genuinely curious. While it may be marketing, it's still a fact that a lot of companies are converting their gas engines to this injection method. My parents have a 2007 Lexus IS350 with the DI system, it has an extremely clicky sound at idle because of the higher fuel pressure but he doesn't get outstanding gas mileage for the power output.

In this you are absolutely correct, plus two strokes are less susceptible to DI's inherent flaws since the oil is in the fuel and the valves tend not to be as susceptible to carbon build.

Mazda is not Ford. Find me one part in a Mazda DISI 2.3l Turbo that came from Ford in it and I will give you an E Cookie. Yes the brakes and certain other Body parts are shared but the DISI motor is completely made by Mazda, Ford uses some MZR engines as some of its duratec motors, but they are still built and developed by Mazda. My motor came from Hiroshima Japan, last I checked Ford didn't have a production facility there. The eco boost is completely Ford sourced parts and Ford built, ie not Duratec. I wouldn't expect you to know this since Fords are "weak like tin cans". Your just a little bit biased, this is a Toyota site, I understand. On MSF.org you have Mazda owners comparing their cars to Porsches. I hurt their feelings too.

Ford sold its controlling interest in Mazda in 2008. Just stop before you look even dumber.

Mazda still have the rotex engine? Is that better than DI?

My 2011 Prerunner Sport was built in Mexico. I was not thrilled about this as I would had preferred to support employees on this side of the border, but have no other complaints about the truck.

The rotary is worse than a two stroke car engine. They don't like to be modified are short on power and drink gas like a V8.

    Wasn't me I promise.

I had a dude on MSF.org go through the trouble of neg. repping every single one of my posts. I LOL'd He said his car was faster than a C6 ZO6 Corvette. I hurt his feelings.

For the record I love my Tacoma. For what I want it for, it is perfect. Sure it doesn't have the best AV system out, it doesn't even have auto headlights. The Mazdaspeed3 I traded in had Auto; Headlights, Windsheild wipers, Heating and AC, 6 Disc MP3 Bose Audio w/ sat. radio and nav. HID headlights, led tails, alcantra suede interior, 6 speed manual, and a 263hp motor that loves to be modded (picked up 22 at the wheels with just a CAI). All delivered for 23K out the door. I sold it because the motor was a ticking time bomb and with so many luxuries it was a matter of time before electrical gremlins reared their ugly head.

My step away from so many luxuries was on purpose. The things that I miss about the car can be rectified through the aftermarket with better results. So don't take what I say as me putting down the Tacoma, there is no other vehicle that I would rather own, thus why I own one. The Tacoma fills my needs better than anything anyone else built, if I wanted a work truck I would have got an F150, but that is not the intended purpose of my truck. But I will not sit by while blatant fanboism is going on. Yes Tacomas are great but they do have things that can be improved upon and to deny that will make sure that those improvements will never happen. A bangin system never kept a truck from off roading, nor do manual windows or door locks insure that a truck will be off roaded.

Your talking about the old two and three rotors, yes those are beast when done properly but I will not go as far as to say they make worthy street motors when hopped up that high. My friend Ira (personal friend not internet friend) has a two rotor swapped into a 77 Corrola. Look him up on You Tube he goes by BoostDr. or rotayota. But again they aren't that reliable, and it explains why LS1 swapped FDs are so popular, why go through all the apex seal shenanigans when you can make 400 at the wheels with just a cam swap?

For the record there hasn't been an affordable sexy car out of Japan since they stopped making the FD. The lines on that car are pure sex and classic. If I could find a clean FD with a half done LSX swap, I would trade my running Mustang in on it in two seconds flat. The B motors were great but the newer Renesis is a better boat anchor.

Texas is where they are made for 2011. That was a selling point at the car show recently. Gave away a flash light if you knew the answer.
